City Park Championship Golf Course- Somme oppose it

It absolutely amazes me that there are hipsters out there that oppose turning this run down area (which was always a golf course) into a championship golf course. They are just redeveloping what was already a golf course. I can't imagine very many people in the area oppose this, unless they are against generating millions of dollars in revenue for the park and are against having everyone's property values increase around the park. Where are you getting your golf course statistics? I am an avid golfer and would love this to happen, but golf courses have been historically detrimental investments since that bitch ruined Tiger's life.

This is who opposes it, they just aren't sure why

Your ignorance is part of them problem as well.

Are you guys mixing up the fact that golf courses themselves don't usually turn much of a profit with the fact that people still play golf and constructing a championship-level course there will bring further opportunities to host professional events, etc. as well as bring life to the fricking cesspool over there?
Come on, now.
Come on, now.

These people are serious?

So you can't see how someone might be opposed to another golf course in New Orleans?
It'd be nice to have something different.

I saw a sign one of them had on the news Tuesday night
More trees, coyotes and birds, less TEES!
fricking morons, always people who oppose progress. Its just grown up shite right now, why would you not want it to be well manicured green space? And why can there not be birds, coyotes and trees on a golf course, not sure i've ever seen one without them....

So you think she didn't single handedly ruin the popularity of golf when she hit him with that 7 iron?

I think it would be cool to have a bad arse course and get some good tournaments here, but I also see the other side to the argument.

I live really close to this and I am thrilled, and I really don't even play golf, although I want to.
shite really needed to be cleaned up and developed. frick coyotes.

The PGA is not going to move the tournament away from a course that they own.

Except for that big ol' piece of the city called "New Orleans East."

It's time to be able to host some major golf tournaments here. Not actual Majors, but USGA big time events and possibly the Zurich Classic within the city limits would be nice. The city hosts huge events in other major sports so why not golf if we can have a world class facility/course to do so
