Johnny Cash at HOB New Orleans - buddy and I were at the front of the stage at his feet and at the end I had him sign the Life magazine from 1969 with him on it.
Eric Clapton at HOB New Orleans - just awesome!
BB King at Club Ebony - many times...the best was one time I was on the front and he was standing right in front of me and as he finished The Thrill is Gone, he handed me his pick and walked off the stage
U2 Joshua Tree Tour - 1987 I think in Houston...awesome show
Ben Harper and Innocent Criminals in San Antonio at the Majestic Theater on their last tour together. Just mind blowing show!
John Prine and Levon Helm at Red Rocks - huge Levon fan and wanted to see him so went out there for this show....best venue and was privledged to see these two there - the night before I saw Ziggy Marley and 311 there...that was a great weekend.

I never got to see Hum much to my chagrin. Did see the Toadies a bunch in little clubs in Dallas back in the early to mid 90s. Saw them not too long ago and they are still good.

Yeah, and Bruce was pissed off and told that story about Frank Herbert, who wouldn't let them use the name 'Dune' for the song they eventually titled, 'To Tame a Land.' Don't know why I remember that.

Even though I've been to many concerts in my many years, I still say it was Grand Funk Railroad on the We're An American Band tour in Lake Charles. The place was insane, and the front page of the American Press had a picture of the floor of the Civic Center, totally destroyed. The olds were in shock.
You stole my post, I was there, I have seen the Stones, Led zep, Elp, most of the bigs names of the 70s, nothing since has rocked like that night. My ears rang for 3 days, I though I would be deaf the rest of my life. There was no ticket master in those days, we got up ;early and tried to be at the front of the line when the box office opened at the Civic Center , we were early the day GFR went on sale and still waited 3 hours in line to bu tickets

fricking right
I don't remember a whole lot about the actual concert that New Years night. Some old arse hippy dosed me with an eyedropper full of acid. That was the most acid I have ever taken at once. Needless to say I was whacked out of my mind. I just laid back on a blanket and stared at the sky the most of the night. I did see the old man time thing and them coming out in a hot dog (although my buddy had to explain to me what all that was about afterwards), but I don't remember much else (that was coherent anyways).
But the show they put on the night before kicked arse. I at least remember most of that one.

Maiden is always money. Never seen'em put on a bad show. Saw them twice in the past few years and they were still awesome. No drop off.

Iron Maiden still puts on a good show. Bruce's voice hasn't lost much if anything from when he first started. Hell, it may be stronger.

I wish Maiden would play New Orleans once before they retire. I'm not getting my hopes up though.

No kidding. Saw them in the mid 80's at the Lakefront Arena; great show. They don't seem to get this far down south much anymore. Bruce is recovering from chemotherapy treatment for the removal of a cancerous tumor on the back of his tongue. Full recovery expected, but it might be a long while before an album and tour.
