I don't think anyone is surprised the academy didn't vote for it. However, I did a quick Twitter search and I was surprised at the number of people rejoicing that it was basically snubbed. "Anything but Sniper"

Shame.

Basically it celebrates everything liberals and the left wing hippies in Hollywood hate.

Stupid comment regarding HawkIng and the left. It may have something to do with the fact that he's the greatest intellect of our time. It's no surprise that he's an atheist. Geez, who on site does not suck off Santorum?

Yea, Hollywood HATED American Sniper. That explains the nominations it received.

I like Lego and Big Hero 6, but HTTYD2 should have won this year's award.

I'm just ecstatic Boyhood won nothing except for Patricia Arquette (who was brilliant and very deserving of the award). Hated that movie.

i think it's freaking hilarious the reactions about American Sniper not winning anything...

I have a bunch of conservative country girl friends on my facebook and they are flipping out...

asked all of them if they had watched any of the other movies...

no responses as of yet

My wife loved AS. Strangely more than I did. She was livid Cooper didn't win Best Actor and the movie didn't win Best Picture.

After everything I saw clips of tonight, I really want to see Whiplash and Grand Budapest Hotel. Both look incredible. GBH I've been meaning to see for awhile, time slips away some occasionally.

Haven't seen Whiplash but GBH was my favorite movie of the year. Just a fun light story with some cool cinematography.

Yes, anti-war movies do win. Nothing different here.

Oh yeah, they come from Louisiana.
