Hear me out on this. LSU is and always will be a baseball school. That's just facts.

The baseball team is more successful than the football team. More national championships, more SEC championships, better track record of winning seasons. A more competent coach and better behaved players that put a shining spot on LSU Athletics in the national spotlight. The baseball team can go out in tigerland and not get in trouble.

Look at how outsiders in Omaha have adopted LSU as their "official team" even when we don't go to Omaha. Only people in Louisiana like LSU football.

LSU football players are better in the NFL than in college. Baseball players are playing their best in college, and really, that's all it's about. Why would any LSU fan care that former players turned on their best talents after they left LSU? I really think that Maneri gets the best out of his players more so than Les

No, we're a gymnastics school first. Haven't you been paying attention?

Uh, there is so much wrong here. Just don't have the energy to respond. I'm sure others will....

Nobody gave a damn about LSU baseball until Skip started winning in the 80s. Meanwhile, families have had the same set of season tickets to Tiger Stadium dating back to the 40s.

It will always be a football school.

You just doomed the baseball team to mediocrity this year. Thanks for the curse.

Although I am an LSU/college baseball fan more than anything else, I have to disagree with you. LSU has always been and will always be a football school that gives more love to their baseball team and fan base than probably any other university.

You would probably need to see some financial figures on the cash each sport brings in.

We should probably just drop football until Saban retires. We can start fresh after that.

I understand your point; however, long before LSU was successful in baseball, they already had a natty in the 50's in football. Again long before success in baseball the basketball team had the likes of of the Pistol,, Shaq, Jackson and others. We might have a better resume in baseball, but we are far away from being a baseball 1st school, but that's just my opinion!

Dumbest thread ever. Only serves to divide the fan base - like Obama has done to this country.

No, we're just a school who was really good at baseball in the 90's and have kept moderate success since. Make no mistake, we're a football school.

Only 1 national title the past 14 years for the baseball team as opposed to 2 for football
