Not necessarily. CA is a huge nursing Union state. Their nurses are paid well and will strike if they don't feel like they are being paid what they are worth. CA nurses get automatic time and a half after working 8 hours....most hospital shifts are 12 hours.

Best part: you get to cash out that equity later in life if you decide to retire somewhere cheaper.
You need to factor in the opportunity cost of that money along the way so the equity argument isn't all that sound to me. Also ask people who got hit by the housing bubble if this plan worked well for them.

That's typical.
Personally, I'd like to live in every state for at least a season.
As my man Jerry Garcia said, "every once in awhile you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look for it right."

Wut? You don't even get that money in the first place if you live in Louisiana. You're seriously embarrassing.

San Francisco and San diego are two great cities, saying otherwise is completely idiotic

Would be awesome. There's probably something redeemable about every part of the country.

I do. I make a great living in Louisiana. I know many people who do as well. It is a very easy state to make money in if you apply yourself. Sorry you couldn't figure out the formula.

It's cheap to live. You generally don't need to make much to afford a decent living.

Not as nice as Barstow or Stockton.

Housing is getting pretty pricey here however. Especially the New Orleans metro area. We are seeing some costs that most never expected to see here.

Some of the best times I've had were in out of the way places when I was least expecting it.
I've lived in 9 states. I think of LA, TN, and MS as "home".

No never been. I was really making more a joke. However I think it would be a pain in the arse because you can't easily buy things and when you do they are often at a premium.

What's the average mortgage for the metro? If you'd compare that to DFW, Houston, San Fransisco metro, you'd see New Orleans is still way cheaper than the rest

Nah. Anchorage has 400,000 people in the area. You can find anything you want at prices you'll find in the lower 48. Housing is high though.
