RB position is a lot easier to plug and play vs. LB or DT

While I agree, guys like josh downs, freak johnson, cl and godchaux made impacts as frosh at DT.

Kwon as a true frosh at linebacker, and everyone has bitched that beckwith wasn't starting sooner.

So while rb may be easier, it isn't unheard of for young guys to make an impact on the defense. We see it all the time. And sometimes they are better than the experienced player.

This is the rant.

"No.

Sorry...lol"

"No LB's! Seriously??? We need Chavis."

"not so excited about the lack of players in the front seven"

"However, the holes in this class will cause us problems down the line"

"It's a good class, but we needed DT and LB recruits"

"Glaring holes in this class overall."

There is always a dark cloud. Pretty normal for the rant misery index.

Please tell me what recruiting service says we were in the top 5 for this year- ESPN, Rivals, etc. cause every service I heard had us no higher than # 10.

Not too disappointed considering we took a punter, deep snapper, and FB. Wish we took McGinnis but whatever. We got everyone we needed and some others we wanted. I'm not too mad we didn't get Charlot considering he'd be sitting behind Dural Dupre Diare Johnson and maybe even Quinn.

We could've been 98th in recruiting and when someone said anything about something we needed you would've cried about it

We did do well.

Obviously there's concern at LB. Two LB's in two years is living on the edge. In '16, if not mistaken, we'll have Riley, Alexander, Garrett, possibly Beckwith (if he stays), and whatever newcomers out there.

If Beckwith stays, if Feist would RS next yr, and if we get a good crop of SEC ready LB's - no worries.

i'm happy for the most part, esp with the OL and the skill players. who wouldn't be?

it does disappoint me, any year, that we have positions that we don't sign anyone. this year, as noted, it was LB's and interior DL. I just think with 25 signees it is better to sign someone in every position every year.

You really are retarded. Try 247 sports, the only recruiting service that has a composite of all the other services rankings. I've seen two of your posts tonight and felt the need to reply to both of them. Your first post was a "woe is me, the sky is falling, we don't use quarterbacks so we'll never get a good one out of state" clusterfrick. Look into the name Feleipe Franks. You've made it quite clear that you have no clue what you're talking about when it comes to LSU recruiting (or any for that matter.) You're just a pessimistic, whiner looking to disrupt good discussion with your shitty opinions.

It was a good haul. We'll sign 4 LBs next year no big deal. I trust the staff knows more than the average poster.

edit: ^yeah if your not familiar with 247 then you should just not comment your thoughts on recruiting

False. That was offensive line, of which we signed arguably the best class in the nation. It's very rare to bring in more than 1 QB per class, and we did just that. McMillan is a good athlete and a good leader. He provides quality depth.

Some of you really don't know his recruiting works.
