The Company Burger’s Adam Biderman always seemed like a man with too much ambition to only run a single hamburger joint, albeit one of the best in New Orleans. Later this year, he’ll double the number of double-stacked cheeseburgers he can serve when Company Burger expands to the CBD’s new South Market District development.

“We’re going from a mom-and-pop, small operation,” Biderman said. “When we expand, it takes us into a different playing field. That’s exciting, but my priority is to keep it consistent and focus on the food.”

Biderman brings a chef’s focus on ingredients to the basic American combo of burgers and fries. The meat is ground in house. The condiments are homemade. And if tomatoes aren’t in season, Biderman won’t serve them.

The second Company Burger, 500-square-feet larger than the original on Freret Street, will have a large bar with 25 to 30 beers on tap.

“The bar is a huge focus for us. I’m trying to get across that idea,” Biderman said. “I can’t wait to have a party for Saints games.”

The second Company Burger will also have a separate kitchen to handle catering and to-go orders. That will guarantee quick service for the nearby CBD office workers who don’t have time to linger over lunch.

The Company Burger will be located in the Paramount building of the South Market District, a retail and residential development from the Domain Cos.

The other announced restaurants in the Paramount are Willa Jean, a bakery from John Besh’s top pastry chefs, Ursa Major from Booty’s in Bywater, the chain pizzeria Blaze and the Vietnamese restaurant Magasin Kitchen.

Will Biderman give the world more Company Burger restaurants?

“I wouldn’t rule out any expansion,” he said, “but this is going to be plenty for us for now.”

Holy shite that area is going to be popping. Company, Magasin 2, Booty's people have something there, pizza place, etc etc. Not to mention Borgne, Johnny Sanchez, CellarDoor and all those places nearby. The Dave and Buster's going up.

Also...this place will do INSANE business before and after Saints games. Insane.

Excited about the bar and draft. I hope the beer isn't expensive like the burger

I never realized that area had a name.

It's a pretty cool area, excited about the growth there.

Is anyone buying up these condos?

I can't imagine there are enough people (with money) still looking for a place in the CBD?
