Dad opened my sep ira when i was 18 (family biz). Not that i was making/contributing much, but it was good to start the habit early.

I had a job at 15 and had nothing to really spend money on so I opened a Roth after taking an economics class in high school

I opened my brokerage account and started investing when I was 18. Opened a roth when I was 19.

401k at 29 ira at 25 (first year out of school) at 35 my wife and I finally began to begin maxing out both our 401ks to our full contribution limits 18k for 2015 each for example. And maxing both iras and rolling over to roths. we have caught up to Where we need to be Almost.

man yall are making me feel like a total bum.
I didn't start contributing to a 401 plan until my first full time job which was around age 25 and didn't open a RIRA until I was about 28.
