Why do people now think the Warriors are not legit now because they lost this one game?
i think they're legit, but i don't see them winning 3 7 game series to get to the finals, and i've said this for a while now. i said the same thing last year. they're a hell of a team to watch, and i've been on that bandwagon for 3 years now back to when Ellis was on the team. but i just don't see them doing it in the half court driven playoffs. just my opinion.

Wait, are we basing all narrative off of the regular season without taking anything else in to consideration? And when I say "regular season" I mean the current one that is barely half over?
Great logic.
the frick are you talking about?

They play great defense, so they'll always be in games. And their offense is good too.
They have as good of a chance as anybody.

I'm saying you probably should take a glance at how some of these teams have done in the past 2-3 playoffs. Experience is as important as anything in the NBA playoffs.
Just watch what Lebron's group and the Spurs do no matter their seeding.

Do you mean the newly formed team with a rookie head coach, and the lengthy playoff resumes of Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, Timofey Mozgov, Iman Shumpert, and JR Smith?

From the West: GSW, SAS, OKC (if they make the playoffs)
From the East: Chicago or Cleveland

Cavs are a bit of a wildcard here due to all of their inexperience.
But you know, Lebron and shite.

i agree that experience is important, but i wouldn't put OKC on the same level as San Antonio due to coaching. and also OKC has been just terrible on the road this year, and there's no way that, if they make the playoffs, they are any better than a 6 seed.

I'm not even mad you didn't include Houston because I have my doubts. But no Memphis? What?

I think the Hawks will fall victim to what's plagued the Grizzlies in the playoffs and that's not having that go-to scorer at the end of games.
This is such a hilarious false narrative I don't know how to respond exactly.
First off this has never been an issue for the Grizzlies. They've been a top 5 clutch time +/- time going on 3 or 4 seasons. The Spurs are the only team that's been better than the Grizzlies in that area.
Secondly on the Hawks the same thing applies. They have multiple guys who can knock down open shots and they move the ball extremely well. They have no issues at the end of games.
You know who is one of the worst teams in the league this season at the end of close games? OKC. Y'all have TWO late game scorers and have absolutely sucked in those situations.
That narrative of needing a go to guy late in games is so overrated.

As Okie said, I don't think they have a "go-to" scorer that can take over a game if needed. If Houston is healthy I think they are in a better position than Memphis.

He's such a troll
It is so odd. He has this weird obsession with everything Grizzlies.

I agree. Houston has a good record but they aren't really clicking right now. Dwight playing hurt was hurting the team. And I think that knee will be an issue all season.
Terrence Jones might return tonight. So that will be interesting.
They have the talent to be as good as any team in the league. It just depends on of they can all get it going at the same time.

I hate to bring the Pistons into this, but that certainly didn't hurt their championship chances. Why? In crunchtime, they had FOUR go-to scorers. Tougher to defend, than isolating Durant or GOATbrook.

Then why haven't the Grizzlies made it out of the West even once?
They had the opportunity on a silver plater 2 years when Westbrook got hurt.
Hell, last year, they come home leading 3-2 vs OKC and get curb stomped in a potential clincher in round 1.
I'll hang up and listen.

Plus if you need to find an actual go to guy then look at Conley's late game numbers. Dude is an assassin.
Posted on 1/28/15 at 9:45 am to okietiger
Just because they haven't before doesn't mean they can't. I mean, they've been to the WCF... it's not like they are some scrub team.

They go through stretches where they struggle to score the basketball. Now they have a top 10 offense this season.
In last year's playoffs, 3 of 4 games yall won were basically blowouts. We won the close games.

Not to mention, who was the 'go-to' scorer for the Spurs throughout their 'mini' dynasty?
Was it Timmay?
Parker?
Manu?
Boris Diaw?
David Robinson?
SJax?
Avery Johnson?
Sean Elliott?
Kawhi Leonard?
They all were asked to take on that role.

A wide open shot for a good player will always be better than some superstar player trying to take on 3 defenders and shooting over them IMO.
