At least that's what this cockamamie bullshite says. I also think we're a lot closer than what they conclude.

that's fricking stupid. apparently written by someone who plays and basis his opinion on Madden.
Mark Ingram was average? so dumb

Cowboys need no additional players to be contenders, but if they'd done this list 5 months ago there would probably be about 8 or 9 players on that list.

Ok. His explanation is better. Apparently he was basing this on PFF's rating. I would like to see this though.
quote:
CB Keenan Lewis: I ranked Lewis as the team's co-MVP -- far from a bad player -- because of the way he handed the opponents' top receivers. He silenced the likes of Dez Bryant (three catches for 44 yards and a TD), Jordy Nelson (three catches for 25 yards), Alshon Jeffery (one catch for 18 yards through three quarters before a late TD versus a backup corner) and Kelvin Benjamin (four catches for 42 yards and one TD in two games). And Lewis rarely, if ever, got beat deep. Former teammate Jabari Greer went so far as to call him one of the best deep-ball cover men in the league. Lewis likely got knocked by PFF's grading system for the Saints' team-wide defensive breakdowns, as they finished 31st in yards allowed.

I admit that I did not read the explanation. Just was in shock when I saw him on the "bad" list.

This is why MLB is such a need. Lofton is ok but overrated. Vaccaro I believe struggled with cockiness and a fear due to previous year's injury. I still think he will return to form.
quote:
Bad News: The Saints' struggles on defense were best captured in their 148 missed tackles (second-most overall). ILB Curtis Lofton paced the team with 22, missing one tackle for every 7.5 attempted, 49th out of the 70 LBs who saw at least 25 percent of their team's defensive snaps. Safety Kenny Vaccaro wasn't much help either: He whiffed on one tackle for every 4.5 attempted, second-worst among safeties who played 50 percent of their team's snaps.

He also wasn't the same playing on 1 leg after his injury

Be sure to read the explanations underneath. It explains everything pretty well

Wow. He has keenan lewis as a bad player, but patrick robinson is listed as a good player

PFF is a good analytic tool, but using it in this way is a prime example of how statistics should not be used.

Wtf was that. Junior galette is elite and cam jordan is average. Colston is bad. Seriously?

And his explanation did not make since. Lewis had a great year, but was downgraded bc of the 31st rank pass defense. If that is the case, there should be no one in the Saints secondary that should be rated higher.
The only explanation I can think of for Robinson being higher is he had 2 INTs compared to 1; but IMO that should not be enough to warrant a higher ranking.
As someone else pointed out, this is not a good way to use these stats.

You are crazy, metrics based on ambiguous formulas ARE SCRIPTURE and not to be argued with. The more variables and factors, the better.
Do not think for yourself, just read PFF

That article also says Cleveland is 7th closest to being a contender or whatever they're calling it, so there's that.
