haven't played witcher 1 or 2
how is this game different than other games in this genre? ie Skyrim or to a certain extent dragon age inquisition

The combat mechanics for Witcher 2 (on console) were better than any other RPG I've played. Add a very deep story and excellent character development, and it was one of my favorite games I played last year (yea, I was late).
This and The Division are the two games I'm most looking forward to for next-gen.

Witcher 1 and 2 somehow both had the flaw that the absolute toughest part of the game was in the first few hours of play.
The pre-patch hellhound from W1 was by far, and I mean by far the hardest boss in the game. I think I killed it with a couple of hp left after numerous attempts.
