Post season depression

After a great hunting season I am having difficulty accepting the fact that it is over. Slowly putting away the waders and getting the guns back in the safe is a tough thing to do.
What are some things you do to stay occupied and keep your mind off of it in the off season?
I will be fishing and working my hunting partner (the dog) until September.
I hope everyone had a good safe season.

Scout for next deer season, make a few hog hunts while it's still cool, fishing...

Trapping until the end of march. Then I switch to fishing, garden and golf. Shooting bow all summer. Early season scouting and stand prep at end of summer and before you know it its dove season.

The great thing about life is there is always something to look forward to. We may have certain things that we like to do over others (hunting vs fishing, etc) but there are so many things to do and be thankful for. My philosophy is that I am not promised another day on this world, so whatever I do, I try to do it and enjoy it....especially when I can plan things with my family. That being said, looking forward to a couple more rabbit hunts and then on to fishing!

Wise words deacon. I'll be moving to LC next month so there will be plenty of fishing to go around. Gotta make sure the boat still works. Hadn't cranked it since August. Gonna start looking for a Duck lease over there too... that will be fun...

Time to follow the squirrel dog a few times, then plow the garden up and get ready for planting. Alot of fishing in the mix too.

i love the hell out of duck season, but since it's only 60 days long i wear myself out doing it. there's time in life for plenty of other things though, and now is that time. i've got some cooking and brewing to do for the next month and maybe start fishing a little on nicer days. then crawfish season and hot weather for float trips. it's gonna be a great year.

Toss out an SR-5 and a crappie jig every once in a while so you can tell us when to plan our first trips(s).

Yeah, i just want to know when they move shallow.
Late may is when i kill them in the grass down south. I have no idea when that actually starts though. I may need to start trying earlier.

I follow "Toledobend Bass" on youtube, and he has lots of video from before April. I have never been able to time it right for the initial move up.

Damn, 40 dozen, thats a spread. I'm glad its over. Kinda get burnt out, especially after 4 or 5 days of seeing nothing.
