Put very well. Greg Sollie was put on this earth to make everyone around him a better person, and he did a hell of a job. I have no doubt that when my graduating class gathers for 10, 20, and 30 year reunions at least half the stories we will remember will come from Mr. Sollie's class.

I remember one time, he fell off of a makeshift skateboard in our classroom. I can't remember what it was doing there, but I'm pretty sure it was around the time we were doing our Rube Goldberg projects. Talk about a sight to see; a 6'10" man falling off of a skateboard in a classroom. I think all of us in his immediate vicinity ran for cover.

That man was awesome. I had trouble in physics and he would stay after school to help me out.
During the spring semester he figured out that I played baseball so anytime we won a big game, he would always ask me why we didnt win by more. He said we were the sorriest excuse for a sports related program. He would tell me the state ring I won the year before was because they felt sorry for us.
He was easily the most entertaining teacher I had. One of the few I would want to sit down and have a beer with today

His purposeful mispronunciations were great. the number 9 was 2 "ni- in"

This thread really shows how great of a man Mr Sollie was. His enthusiasm in physics was a large reason as to why I majored in mechanical engineering and I am thankful for having him as a teacher.

I was reading this thread, not knowing who he is and wishing I had met him. Then I realized I had...he officiated a game I was coaching a few years ago. I asked him why he made a specific call.
His response: "I can see the court better from this altitude"

It was a great stream. Loved the quote at the end. Watching it makes me wish I would have gone to it. I really wish I could have listen to what the students, especially the seniors, had to say this morning. I would have been for sure.

That absolutely represents the Greg Sollie classroom experience.
Man was he funny.
Made learning fun. Especially at 7:15 in the morning (I had him first period my senior year).
