Its latest project, the Apple Watch, sure looks like a smartwatch, and it might be very successful, but is it doing anything totally unique? Is it really exciting? No.
Well I disagree with that right off the bat. You know everyone's gonna want one and no one has made a wearable that's come even close to taking off yet. Once again everyone's waiting on Apple to make it feasible for a large audience. Same exact thing with Apple Pay.
The HoloLens part looks really neat, but I see that going the way of 3D TV. Really cool idea and people who have the funds and interest will buy it, but it will never come close to being widely utilized.

Good point, actually. As Apple's market share increases, it faces the impossible task of trying to please a broader audience, and the safest approach is to respond to the market rather than create the market like they did with the iPhone and iPad.

I feel sorry for you.

iPhone 4
when I realized I could have the features of a jailbroken iphone, with a larger screen, I went Android and have never looked back

Well that statement just simply is not true. No one is waiting around for Apple. There are plenty of companies putting out smart watches and payment systems.

Not to mention that tap & pay has been available on Android for years now. Apple Pay is "new" only to Apple.

I think his point was that Apple was going to make it "feasible for the masses." I disagree with him, but I think that was his point, not that Apple invented.
Which fits with the history of apple implementing tweaks into iOS that the jailbreak community created.

And then give no credit to the developer they just completely ripped off. Such a pathetic fricking company.
Exactly why I left years ago with so many others that worked in the jailbreak scene, I helped make complete themes for cydia with many others, and when Apple ran out of new ideas and started stealing jailbreak developers work and calling it their own, bye douchebags.
Google on the other hand has hired multiple XDA developers that have developed some amazing tweaks for Android, and given them the resources to perfect it and release it built into Android. That is how it's done.

diagree with the first part
agree with the second part
after 3+ months with my android watch i can tell you i've grown dependent on it. its basically a more 'socially acceptable' way to receive notifications.
that's mainly it. i've also gotten quite used to the voice command (particulary in my car) but you cant respond to texts notifications in meetings by talking to your watch or you look like a complete douche.
but the hellfire of notifications that constantly bombard me...? yes and yes. the watch is worth the $75 just to keep my phone clear of 100 notifications when i finally get around to using it.

The author of this article doesn't seem to have a clue. Using his definition of "exciting," Apple has never been the "exciting one."
Apple has always innovated the user experience, not the technology. He calls Apple the "mid-2000s Microsoft" and then cites HoloLens as his argument, but Microsoft was already doing technologically innovative stuff like that in the mid-2000s. Mid-2000s Microsoft didn't have a problem with being technologically innovative, they had a problem bringing innovative products that the average Joe actually wanted to market before their competitors could.
-- Steve Jobs
Now, we very well may be approaching the end of the Second Golden Age of Apple, but if we are, it's not because of the reasons this clueless guy cites.

Who could compete with the fun of Windows 8?
Posted on 1/21/15 at 6:44 pm to SG_Geaux
Google is working on wearables, robots, drones, broadband internet service and so many other cool shite. MS is working on Holograms, Cortana and whatever else that was announced today with Windows 10.
What is Apple working on? They bought a stupid head phones company and they are still figuring out how to make a 12" Macbook Air and a 12" iPad Pro after it took them 5 years to change the size of the iPhone screen.
Apple is getting left way behind in the tech wars. They are just sitting on their asses milking profits. My bet is they will be irrelevant in 10-15 years time. Not saying they will go out of business, but they better start investing is some of the futuristic stuff the other companies are doing to stay ahead of the curve.
All that is happening deep down in Cupertino's secret research lab....
Jony Ive: "must make everything thinner...."

I can understand your frustration, but I'm a little surprised that you honestly expected some gratitude from Apple for breaking their EULA for your own benefit.

Expect Apple to be a decent company? Of course not.

So they're not a decent company because they didn't reward you for violating the licensing agreement that you agreed to?
The jailbreak community did some great things for iPhone users, but this can't seriously be your point of view.
