He was saying it will not happen this year, would not be voted on until next year this time if it gets on the table.

Although I agree about the penny pincher tag,

the blame for that doesn't rest solely on his shoulders.

Ya'll really need to understand that TAF sets the budget, whether anyone likes it or not, whether it's officially or unofficially, it's TAF.

Isn't that the gist of the thread? The proposal wasn't enacted and all of you know-it-alls seem to be blaming Alleva

For the second time, no one in this thread is blaming Alleva you dense jackass.

I started the thread paraphrasing what Alleva said on 104.5. That's it. Then discussion took place on why Alleva may or may not want an additional coach. No one, I repeat no one, has said "it's Allevas fault this rule hasn't been proposed."

If there is a hint that we are losing focus on the main moneymaker for LSU...football then heads need to roll sooner rather than later.

It's ok to spend on other sports but not at the expense of falling behind in the most cutthroat division in the most cutthroat conference in America.

I see Aggie and Barn spending to keep up with Bama's psychotic football spending. We'd better do the same. I get the sense that our money is spread across the department more.

If every team is able to hire an extra coach (or position that can recruit), I think you have to at least consider a diminishing rate of return at some point.

What hint?
From who?(whom?)

Damn generous of you. Or maybe just cut out the other sports altogether. That work?

I am assuming that you have expressed these sentiments at the finance meetings you have attended.

You sense it?
Can't get better reason to go off on Alleva than that.

LSU has the highest coaches payroll in college football. Give it a rest.

If you are talking about assistants yes, but the entire programs staff, no. tOSU dwarfs ours. Unless we are paying Steele what we paid chavis, then we don't even have the highest paid assistants anymore.

Nope, the team that just won the title spends $10 million more on their football staff than LSU does.

Where in my post did I "go off" on Alleva? In fact I referenced the TAF guy. Yet another rantard is exposed. Sigh.

Isn't Jindal slashing higher education again this year for $300 million?

That has nothing to do with the Athletic Department. The Athletic Department is self sufficient and receives no money from the state or the school.

It's become obvious how dense this guy is. Just read his posts in this thread. He has no idea what he is talking about. I think he's senile.

I read them. Looks like discussion is taking place about Alleva being a penny pincher. Whether or not that is true, it has nothing to do with your claim of everyone in here blaming Alleva for no proposal of the new coach limit.

Approving that additional coach should be a no brainer and if Alleva is too tight and stupid to see the need, I there's no hope for him. This is the type of thing that shows LSU needs to move on and find a competent Athletic Director.

Alleva was at the NCAA meetings
the proposal didnt come up for vote at the NCAA meetings
this has nothing to do with Alleva

You guys are saying Alleva is cheap but he just added an 11th coach when he agreed to pay Haley his contract, but keep him in an administrative intern role.
