Got a great deal on a CZ 550 Safari Classic off of the sportsman. Anyone else here have one? What do you use it for? What did you scope it with?
Decided on the Alaskan Arms Quick Release Rings. They are cam lock rings and seem to be very well made. They are made specifically for the CZ Dovetail and have a tab that locks into the dovetails recoil tab. Went with a Zeiss Duralyt 1.2-5x36. It is a discontinued model, replaced with the Conquest DL. It seemed like a good mix of power, glass and objective size. They are about half off of what their retail was, so I will consider it a good buy for now. The bolt handle rubs against the oversized focus ring on the scope, so that's a problem. I'm not sure if I want to try and remove the ring or replace the rings with higher ones. I kind of like where it's at now height wise.

This one has 12 rounds through it. Great shape and great wood. It's heavy as hell though. Have you shot anything with yours?

Badass! I love the caliber

I personally have not. It's been to Africa though.

What kind of shite porn has only one photo...

Most people would mount a 1-4 power scope on a .375.

Fair enough...
Great looking wood grain
Has flip up rear sight for 200 and 300 yards.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking something with a low power like that. Have no idea what direction I want to go with it yet.
I've seen it posted before on threads... I think people put it so it doesn't raise a flag on work filters. I could be totally wrong on that.

1-4 power scopes are popular with dangerous game hunters. I would get some talley qd rings with a 1-4 power vortex.

I'll probably be bringing this with me to Alberta this year for 2 weeks in the bush. There are a lot of pipelines and open country where we will be. I just don't know if I will be happy with a 4x should I need to take a shot that far.

Looks like it would do well on squirrels.

whats the recoil like on this round?

It's terrible shooting at paper.

Needs a 2-7x32 scope
2x is low enough to aim at your own toes and still be able to see the crosshairs and toe hairs at the same time.
Don't ask me how I know, just take my word for it.

Yeah, I have a 1.7-10. You can see the gun barrel when it's cranked all the way down. That seems like a good size. A quick search of a couple forums says that 1.5-5 is probably the most common, with a lot of people using the 2-7s as well.
Guy I bought this one from swore that it wasn't as bad as his 30-06. I don't know if I believe him or not. It is a 9 1/2 pound gun and has a he of a recoil pad, but damn, that's a mighty large round.
He shot 300grain fwiw.

I believe he told you that, but I do NOT believe what he said is true. BTW, that's some really NICE looking wood. Congratulations on purchase.
