This has probably already been posted but I just read the story about the Cobra and 2 were made. Bill Cosby owned the other but returned it after driving it once because he is a pussy and the next owner drove it off of a cliff

I watched yesterday and they had a few Toyota FJ40 Landcruisers sell for the upper $30-$45,000 range. Thats a pretty good price for a fully restored model. I'd love to have one if the timing was right.

You see this FJ40 yesterday? Went for 46k I think. The entire paint surface was all bedliner.

Yes, thats the one I was talking about. Those in bad shape cost 5-6 grand minimum. To restore it like that is easily another $20-30,000 or more depending on power options and other things.

it is a beautiful car but i kinda prefer the cars to be original. the custom market is cool but a lot of cars are 'ruined' in the process imo.
To each thier own...
My biased opinion is the direct opposite. Most classics drive/ride like CRAP, and some down right scary at speed. Drum brakes, manual sloppy steering, heavy with anemic power. I think the perfect blend is classic styling with modern power and safety features... win/win IMO.

Agree 100%.
I get that from a collector standpoint, you value originality.
But for driving, old cars are crap. That's just straight-up fact.

Having all the Pratt cars on Saturday night bumped a few cars to earlier time slots, like the 2 gull wing Mercedes and the L88 corvettes. They would have normally been prime time cars and maybe went a little higher. Just my opinion.

I dont think anyone denies that the technology was crap compared to todays cars. When I get in our old car, im not expecting a smooth ride like a new Cadillac. Im also not going to be going into triple digit speeds.
I think its kind of cool to drive around the old technology on a Sunday afternoon.
