I think it's only for under 300 acres.

It does.

The best you can do is alert local friends and neighbors to the situation.
I was down hunting this year and I got a text about my gate being open. It was me in there, but it meant the world to me that a neighbor was actually looking out for me.

The Commission on Wildlife,
Fisheries, and Parks adopted new regulations
in November 2007 which
became effective in July 2008. Any person
owning a high-fenced property is
required to obtain an annual Facility
Permit. The cost of this permit is $300
per year for any enclosure up to 300
acres. For any enclosure larger than 300
acres, the cost of the permit is $1 per
acre. Any property fenced after
November 2007 must be a minimum of
300 contiguous acres and at least 50%
of the total enclosed area must contain
suitable habitat for white-tailed deer
and must not be susceptible to flooding
under normal conditions.
In addition to a permit, all highfenced
enclosures in Mississippi must
be enrolled in the Enclosure
Management Assistance Program.
Under this program, the owner is
required to work with an approved
wildlife biologist from the Mississippi

Parks (MDWFP) to manage the deer
herd within the enclosure and submit an
annual management plan by May 1.
Owners/operators are also required to
consent to periodic inspections by the
MDWFP, with a minimum of one visit
annually. Any deer exhibiting clinical
symptoms of chronic wasting disease
must be tested and deer are not allowed
to be transported from the wild into an
enclosure. Finally, any enclosure less
than 10 acres, registered before
November 2007, are required to turn
over any offspring produced to the
MDWFP within five days.

We had some crackers near Gloster that would poach our land, run dogs across it, etc. Then we went up there to hut one day and all but one of our stands were destroyed. Rednecks are out of control up there.
It's bad over there and over around Hattiesburg where I had my lease. The best thing to do is get in a club/lease that has a manager or lease some land that is an active farming operation that has someone on it daily. But places like that run pretty expensive.

I would have had to try to run down some probably drunk and definitely armed trespassers who knew they were guilty in a boat.
on top of which, you would have had someone that would've been mighty pissed at you
i've had several of the same situations happen to me and my family over year, as shitty as it to say, sometimes you just gotta let it go because it isn't worth the headache that goes along with doing to the right thing
JTTGDF on the other hand, well.. sometimes extreme means are necessary
