NOT

And If Ogeron end up in the sec west someone from LSU should be fired that day.

Alleva would be my choice

Recruiting big yes

Xs and Os no

note: if he gets pressure on the QB than I think we will be happy with him. Chavis never had a defense who could rack up sacks.

Not even close, its not even a comparison.

Massive failure on the part of Miles and Co.

Forget upgrade.

Even if he is passable at the job I don't feel he is on the same teir.

Case in point: NFL teams reviewing LSU tape to get into Chavis's head on how he plays against spread schemes.

Lulz. Chavis is the only reason Miles still has a job.
We see all of the improvement every Offensive Coordinator hire has made.

Maybe Chavis was just the fluke hire that saved Miles' job.

The question should be "is there any evidence at all that he is?"

First of all, nobody wanted to come here - for obvious reasons. This is a hire of last resort.

That said, please remember, Saban wasn't Saban before he was Saban; Chavis wasn't Chavis before he was Chavis. Ditto for Meyer. That's the only saving grace about this hire - maybe we get lucky. That is all.

He's not an upgrade. It isn't debatable. The people who will say Steele is an upgrade are blind optimists and wouldn't complain no matter who we hired.

Everyone has Steele pegged as a downgrade before he has ever coached a game at LSU. Does anyone really believe Steele is taking this job to fail?? I would think if anything, he wants to prove he is the best and wants to correct any past mistakes in his coaching history. Give the man a chance!

Steele wouldn't have been any worse against Notre Dame than Chavis was.

Saban - successful every stop except NFL.

Chavis - successful.

Meyer - are you kidding? He's led 4 teams to 12+ win seasons.
