I don't remember how the math works out. It really is kind of trippy stuff.
The math is incredibly complicated.
The jist of it is based on the fact that with only 23 people you have 253 pairs and a 50% chance with a match.

well then i would say that you most certainly have a match

I still remember that lecture. One of the few professors of a gen ed class that I liked. Dr. Vaughn was awesome.

No, you are wrong. The set of choices is defined at 366. If you have 367 and all 367 must have a discreet choice (i.e. birthday) then you MUST have at least one match. Think of it this way: if you have a set of 366 that all have unique birthdays, then all possible options in the set of options have by definition been taken. If you add a 367th person, they have a birthday, and that birthday can only fall in the set of 366 ALREADY taken options, you MUST have an overlap.

Rarely is the question asked, is our children learning?

In questioning your math here. Are you saying two and only two or at least two? Big difference on the probabilities

I get the other one, but can you explain this one?
I trust you, I just want to explain it to co-workers when I blow their mind.
Ugh good luck. I hope your co-workers can do calculus.

What happens when the head comes out at 11:59PM and the feet come out at 12:00AM?
