Gordon has been looking good since he came back. 9/20 in just 4 games. I've said I'm done with him but dammit he's trying to pull me back in

His shooting is going to be a factor if we could actually stay healthy as a team and play smart 4th quarter ball.

I really agree with you here. Our 2nd team is bad, just bad. The only hope we have when our starters rest is for Anderson to hit shots. Otherwise, we just fall too far behind. Sad truth.

Corndeaux, what's the numbers when we win?
I agree Anderson isn't the main reason, but if he plays well, we very rarely lose. AD or tyreke can play there arse off and we can still lose.
Anderson can go 3-9 from three and score 14 points, but if the three are timeout causing threes or late game threes, I feel better about the chances of us winning.
Back when games were only on cox I'd check the box score and if peja/Anderson shot well from three or scored 20+ points, it's very likely we won.if they shot poorly, we most likely loss.

he's got me back in, an efficient healthy Gordon changes this team drastically.

ehh... He can hit the open shot, that's about it though. Still much needed since he's making max$$

he does a lot more than hit open shots. He defends his position well, and is a very under rated passer. He looks to AD a lot on drives and gets him open shots. he changes this team if he's healthy.

Gordon plays defense and he passes to AD

In wins, the team shoots 50% on 84 FGA and 39% on 19 3FGA.
Anderson: 47% on 14 FGA and 41% on 7 3FGA
Holiday: 47% on 13 FGA and 41% on 3 3FGA
Evans: 48% on 16 FGA and 38% on 2 3FGA
Anderson has the biggest jump, but all of them see a healthy increase in shooting performance.
Interestingly, Anderson has the same DRating (102) in wins as Holiday.
I agree. When Anderson shoots well from deep that means the Pelicans are likely having an efficient night on offense. He gets hot from deep and games can change in 90 seconds. And he has been less than what we are used to seeing. His shot has been hit or miss.
I don't agree with premise of the thread: that Anderson is the sole reason the team wins or loses. That his defense single handedly sinks the team's defense. Or that they are better off trading him.

This sounds to me like Ryno is more the reason we win than the reason we lose.

Yep, even when he was shooting poorly early, he still improved the team. He is probably the best help defender on the perimeter. He is often the one that squeezes the big in the post make him give up his dribble and/or the ball. He sometimes gets himself taken out of position to close out to the corner, but the alternative is a one-on-one situation on the low block.

if gordon costed 5-7mil less than what he is right now, not many people would have complaints.
Unfortunately, he's overpaid, but he brings something to the table that no one else on this roster does outside of maybe Jrue.

Yep, there is nothing we can do about that now. since he is here, we might as well pull for him to be healthy and play his arse off. I don't think he will ever regain his explosiveness but he is still a very talented 2 guard in a league that doesn't have many.

I agree.
Big thing I take from this is that why are we so dependent on him to win? IF he doesn't shoot well, our chances of winning are slim. Why is that?
There is no reason to be that tied to winning to one player. It's as if AD has no impact on if we win or lose, which is just stupid. Even Brent Barry said somthign along those lines after the Boston loss. I remember him saying " AD scored 30 whatever, but he does it while not even being part of the offense"
We need a new coach. We are far too talented to not be better than we are. We have been fairly healthy this year, and my god EG has actually been a really good player this year for us.

Because our defense is terrible meaning we have to outscore other teams which means we need big games from Ryno?

How come big games from AD or Tyreke don't always translate to wins? A big game from Ryno has translated to a win 18 out of 19 times he's done it this year.

Because most of Ryno shots are 3s?

Because Ryno is a large part of why our defense is terrible and on nights where he carries his own weight we win?

so who's interested in trading Ryno?
I am.
Ryno/Tyreke/Salmons for Joe Johnson/Teletovic
Ryno for Bass/Nate Robinson? we did that, we'd have a good bit of money under the cap for next year, while still having Jrue, EG, Reke, and AD

That Ryno for Gerald Green and a 1st deal doesn't sound too bad right about now.
