KIA Sorrento. Same price as CR-V, but a lot more room and V6 is an option. Got one in May for the wife. Love it.

Loved my jeep Grand Cherokee. Would have gotten a new one if the back seats were a little roomier. Couldn't deal with kids kicking the back of my seat anymore. But I had no problems with my '06. Gave it to my mother-in-law with 160k on it and it still runs like a top.

Subaru is a great alternative to the traditional SUV. Great cars.

I think I'm going to try to talk my mom into that. I was impressed with the one I saw.

I'm looking in that same range. Considering used Jeeps or X3s

My wife just got a '15 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport AWD with all the options for around $30K. It's a really nice vehicle and she's happy with it. She looked at the CRV and Jeep Cherokee, but went with the Santa Fe instead. No regrets whatsoever.

. That's likely the route I'm gonna go. Not as good on gas mileage as the rogue, but priced better once you start adding in options (sunroof, leather, etc).
