No idea.
I like Reggie, and he's arguably the best backup PG in the game.
But man the guy plays some of the worst defense I've ever seen. Definitely a huge strike against him.
I thought he might be offered max money last summer after the playoffs but now I doubt it.

Wait til he starts chucking and hogging the ball.
And wanting to start.
And wanting to start.

So Cavs got Smith and Shumpert and OKC got Waters, Knicks got a pick.....

Funny that Durant says that. You aren't going to hear Westbrook share that same sentiment.
"Wait, you're telling me there's another guy that really likes to shoot once I pass him the ball? I don't think so."
On the entire trade itself, I think both the Thunder and Cavs win here. For the Thunder, you get a young scorer for practically nothing, and while he'll come off the bench at first, he can be a good offensive insurance WHEN Westbrook or Durant go down again.
For the Cavs, they weren't keeping Waiters and everyone knew it. Whether he's a shot chucker or not, to get a 6th Man of the Year on a team with championship aspirations, that's always key. Maybe getting away from that triangle will be beneficial to him. In Shumpert, they get the defensive guard that they wanted when they were pursuing Corey Brewer. Not saying they are the same at all, but they got the type of player they were seeking.
If the Cavs can pick up Dalembert when the Knicks cut him too, this may wind up being a solid outcome for them in the end

The Cavs actually got a solid defender while getting rid of Waiters? Winner winner chicken dinner.

Cavs getting Okafur (so?) the C whose been out of league with injuries

Looks like Okafor is going to sit out the rest of this season. I imagine Jermaine O'Neal is Mavericks bound when he decides to return.
The Cavs do have a 1st rounder back and around a $5 million trade exception still that they will likely use to go get a center. They should kick themselves for ever even thinking of giving the Brazilian made of glass an extension

young scorer
In Waiters? That's a stretch...by that definition anyone who gets the opportunity to shoot fifteen times is a scorer, because he doesn't do it very well.
OKC is banking on Waiters being checked-out in Cleveland and having a strong enough organization to tap into his potential. If he simply gives them what he gave Cleveland this trade doesn't help them at all.

Meh. JR Smith = a slightly better Dion Waiters
Shumpert = a really good defensive SG (a major need)
Dion isn't a team player and doesn't play defense. They were going to toss him eventually. This move gives them better defense and more depth.
If the Cavs got Dalembert out of this deal I would said they won this trade by a mile.
This.

Lol at all the msb posters and how smart they are. This thread delivered.

Well, JR Smith is, overall, an average player. I'm not really holding this thread against them.

I didn't know I had to post to have an opinion. That is besides the point of why I bumped it, I just like reading through the over reactions.

No, but to act like you always knew better would suggest you were man enough to post about it before you had hindsight to hide behind.
