I've always skipped this in the past. Is it worth a visit? If so, how much time should I set aside for it?

It's ok. Limitless free arcade games and some other decent indoor attractions like cyber space mountain and the 3D pirate game. Def worth checking out if you have school aged kids. We usually get free admission vouchers from our travel agent. I probably wouldn't go if I had to pay full price admission.

It sucks. Don't do it.
The coolest things there are LAN Mario Kart games where you can race your friends and this arena type thing on one of the middle floors where you ride around in these little car things that shoot dodgeballs. You drive over them to suck them into the bottom and then shoot them at everyone else. Only problem is that they don't really work well anymore. If they did work properly it would be badass.
That's my experience there and that's from about 5 or so years ago.

Agreed. I went there about 6 years ago, and it seemed very dated, poorly maintained in comparison to their Disney parks.

Yuo. VERY dated.
I guess it could be cool if they updated their games, or made sure more of them worked.
And FWIW, my sentiments are that it isn't worth it at full price. I could see it being okay if you got a good discount or got in free like someone mentioned.

Anyone try the build your own roller coaster simulator?
Posted on 1/4/15 at 1:51 am to JabarkusRussell
I did the custom coaster simulator 4 years ago. Not very fun because when you go upside down it doesn't move fast enough like a real coaster to produce centrifugal force. This causes you to uncomfortably hang upside down in your harness for several moments.
However it was worth replaying the video of me riding the coaster.

I assume this is Disneyworld, not Disneyland?

Yes. Downtown Disney is in Orlando. They are changing the name again so whatever it's called now.

I thought the Pirates of the C. was cool. I went early and was able to go in multiple times without the lines.
After about the fifth time it occurred to me that at least 500 little boogie fingers a day were playing it as well. The thrill was gone.

You don't set time aside to see this. It's a rainy day attraction. It was org supposed to be a national launch, but they never invested the time or money to make it successful. They opened one in Chicago but it closed in 2001. If you enjoy games from the 1990's it's great. There is rumors that it will be closed when they finish the "Disney Springs" expansion/make over... I'm not a Disney hater.. I enjoy the parks and take yearly trips... Just my honest opinion
