Whatever u do stick to Rem, Win, or TK. Or you could really loose you mind and jump up to the Weath mark 5 featherweight. I have that in the 270 and I absolutely love it, handloads and its a tack driver, three in the same hole before no problem.

The tikka is a great choice but don't choose 30-06. Go with either 270 or 270wsm. And if you going to get a leupold get the VX3 3.5-10x50. Other then that you are just wasting your money.
Just cause your dad and his dad shoot a 30-06 doesn't mean you need to. It's an old round an there's better choices for performance out there.

I would avoid the super light rifles in anything higher than a 270.
Had a T3 lite in a 7 mag, killed a few animals with it, but never really enjoyed shooting it. Kicked like a mule. Also, those really lite guns don't seem to hold target as well for me. Switched to a Sako A7 long range and I couldn't be happier.
A lot of people love those Tikkas though.

Sight that bad boy in the rain. Its stainless. Man up no such thing as too many guns. That is money in the safe for the future.

Is this the one with the camo stock? If so, don't buy the camo... At the way they change camo patterns it won't be cool in 10 years.
I bought a Sako A7 .30-06 in SS at Cabelas for that price 2 years ago, last time I looked you could still find them online for that price. They had 3 in Gonzales, I should have bought them all
Leupold makes a fine product but the rifleman series isn't where it starts you are better off buying a Vortex or Nikon of equal value, or buying a VX-2. I would put a rifleman on a .30-30 or something that's a bang around gun before I put it on that.
Don't buy a .30-06 buy a .243, .270, .7mm-08, .7mag, .308, .300 or some other round that you have never heard of much less seen in a store that will be damn near impossible to find ammo for and will cost you 2x as much money to buy.

Super light and cheap enough that damage is not a concern.

I've shot plenty of tikkas and have always been impressed

Like one of the above posters said the T3 lites do kick like some mules. At first i didn't like my 270wsm at all. Took it bayou teche guns and had a muzzle break put in. Best money I've ever spent. Love the gun now. Super light no recoil awesome gun.
