Will Cameron be on the hot seat with another year like this?

Whether or not Miles is holding him back is irrelevant. The guy is making more than a million a year. He needs results. People have accused Sumlin of having a drop-off after Manziel/Evans, but the drop-off was much greater for LSU after losing Mett/OBJ/Landry/Hill/Blue.

sounds pretty relevant to me

Cameron will not be on the hot seat - Les Miles picks the plays that are going to be run every game. Cam has to call the plays that Miles picks.

Miles is officially on the hot seat. It's all part of this Chavis stuff. Chavis knew miles time is limited, that's why he wanted guaranteed money.

The dropoff was greater because A&M was already in decline from its 2012 Cotton Bowl peak.

i'm not sold on Cameron. he has some work to do to convince me of his worth. the reason is I greatly SUSPECT he overcoaches, esp the QB's. he's been in the pro's long enough that he probably has found it difficult to simplify things enough for college kids. having said that, I have found the last couple of games different than the first 11. maybe things are beginning to gel.
if we can just get good qb play we will be awesome again.

Cam's seat won't even be butt temperature until Les feels some blazing heat.

The buck stops with Les from here on put. We've had plenty of coordinators.
Just like with Sumlin, if the defense for aTm is terrible in a couple of years, you gotta quit blaming the coordinators. It's time to start at the top. Even though I think Chavis will do good in a couple years there.
Miles has had a TON of time to recruit and hire guys to run a competent offense. But it needs to be consistent. Not one every 4 years.

Why would OC be on the hot seat. It takes timd to transition from high school to college and college to pro. Both QB didnt know the offensive scheme or how to read defenses. As they mature and learn they will get better.

Yes, he'll be on the hot seat and he should be. This, plus making sure our OL is hitting on all cylinders from Game 1 will be key. That's on Grimes.
I do not think Les is holding back anything. We were conservative because we couldn't execute the full extent of our playbook this year. I think the coaching staff just realized this too late to make major changes to the playbook. You can't reinstall a new offensive system mid-year. The staff made adjustments later in the year, but Jennings is limited in what he can do.
We are a pro style offense that features a TE and FB, which is extremely effective and gets players into the NFL. Unfortunately, this offense needs a QB that can make more than one read (i.e., it's not Oregon or Auburn simple). 2013 was a good example of how effective Cam and this offense can be.
We either have a QB development problem or a problem adapting our system to the QBs we have. Jennings is not the answer for 2015 so Cameron needs to figure out how to develop Harris for primetime or figure out how to make Harris effective with a smaller playbook. If Harris doesn't come around, we are screwed. I don't see Jennings taking us to the SECCG.

If our passing game sucks as bad as it did this year, the whole thing will probably implode. We had very few good passes the other day against an atrocious D in our 13th game of the season.

Cam's here for as long as Les is here unless he walks away on his own.

CC thinks he is getting paid to NOT give Miles problems. I'm starting to believe that this close friendship is the problem. I'd have to see them arguing on the sideline before I'd believe that CC cares enough to confront CLM.
The real questions is...Is CLM capable of letting CC run the offense with NO interference?

Do the majority of A&M posters still want Sumlin fired?

How many more 9-4/8-5 seasons before Sumlin is canned?

You do realize how stupid your statement was, right? TAM loses 2 players, LSU loses 5, yet you seem surprised at how much greater LSU's drop was!

Yep.
Chavis had a bad year in 2013, and we didn't see enough improvement to our liking in 2014 so we dumped his arse.
Cam will feel the same heat.
