I keep looking at Ohio State's THIRD STRING QB in his second game and wondering what we are doing differently????

Would you be any less critical of Miles if we was working pro bono?

Nope. Miles & CC should have made decisions back in the spring. The challenge was that they had to get past Wisky before getting to the easier teams which would provide opportunities for QB development. CLM got into an emotional clusterfrick over AJ vs BH. You may recall that we've seen this situation before and the "CLM loyalty factor" usually trumps the actual best option.

there were plenty of times he could have given Harris meaningful reps, even after the auburnt game, I doubt Harris even has a chance now because miles will JJ AJ just to spite the fanbase, awful as we are

You don't sound like a pumper. More like...hopeful. Nothing wrong with that but someone has got to get the message through CLM's thick head that there is nothing wrong with changing, improvising, and adapting. CFB is changing every year and the successful coaches will make changes as necessary. With CLM, it appears that he wants to win his way and he's Les concerned with what the other team is doing.

Jennings was playing as bad or worse against freaking NEW MEXICO STATE-- his completion percentage was almost as low and he was a turnover machine before he got benched.

not sure why you're insulting me, or where I've shown I haven't thought for myself. I've wanted Harris to start most of the yr. I've said that pretty consistently for months. I sincerely doubt he'd have done worse than Jennings, he has a higher ceiling, and we'd have gotten him some experience. at worst, I think we could've played both and got Harris a few series a game.

I'll restate...he was buried way down the depth chart and I've got to believe that he wasn't getting meaningful coaching throughout the season. He somehow comes out of nowhere and is able to run the offense that he can handle. Wouldn't you agree that both BH & AJ had more focussed coaching from the spring until now?

I don't necessarily agree with that. Miller was hurt and limited as far back as spring. Jones got more reps as a result, and he was elevated to the 2nd team QB before the season started (when Miller got ruled out for the yr). it's not crazy to think that the OSU coaches put a bit more effort into getting him ready seeing as how he was 1 play away from starting at any given point. hell, he had Braxton there to help him out as well.

Sorry...I didn't mean to insult you. That was more directed at Cracker but I was responding to your post.

My point was that our top 2 never changed so I'm assuming that they received significant coaching. I didn't see improvement.

Mett came here with a solid pedigree after having started playing at UGA(a proven QB school) and getting valuable playing time at a good JUCO. He just needed some polishing and a good supporting staff around him. LSU was lucky to have him. So, no need to worry, Miles and co. are still batting 1000.

LSU better start with doing something quick with Coach Raymond because we might not have a DB coach next year to help the QB development of our QBs by taking off the pressure because they are on the field too long. Strong jungle drums he maybe leaving as early as next week.

this has been hashed and rehashed a million times. you are frustrated. we ALL are frustrated. i'll bet you the coaching staff is even more frustrated.

since you DON'T KNOW why BH is starting you, like many others, are making stabs in the dark. it usually entails miles being stupid and playing favorites.

yes, other Fr QB's look good. that really doesn't mean shite as far as our Fr QB.

while you are assuming miles is an idiot and out to ruin LSU's football program, I am assuming that AJ won the QB job over BH. this happens at EVERY level of football. it is very disappointing because we saw some damn fine passing being thrown the the MSU game. but that's ALL WE SAW that was good. the auburn game convinced me the kid was lost; deer in the headlights lost.

one thing you are completely ignoring and you are not alone. college is a HUGE step up from high school; same up to the pro level. some of the best high school athletes wash out in college and some of the best college athletes wash out in the pro's. why? they never make the adjustment. there are a number of reasons why but I have witnesses and have personal knowledge of this happening and it's almost always been "mental". not dumb mental but just not applying themselves enough, ie, they just didn't want it enough to make the sacrifices necessary to excel that the new level or their confidence gets shot because everything has always been so easy for them and now it's not. some yyoung people have been coddled since birth.

i'm not saying that's BH's problem because all I know that you don't is that I've BEEN THERE and DONE THAT. I hope to hell i'm wrong because I want him to succeed also; for his sake as well as the sake of LSU football.

I agree 100% with OP! We are not developing our quarterbacks; doesn't matter who it is they all look the same on the field; even Mettenberger most of the time. I NEVER buy/believe in the "young" or "freshman" excuse; If other teams can win with young and inexperienced then so should LSU with correct coaching!

Here's the thing. If ANY QB of ours had the start the OSU QB had, he would be lucky to throw five me passes all game until we were down two TDs.

THAT is what I think drives our poor QB play.

By the way. This actually drives down "attempts" even on called pass plays. Our QBs play scared to death.

My favorite part of that article is that CC's offense "calls for a mobile quarterback" We run a pro-style offense (one of the few left).

If we had a true pro-style QB this year, I think we would have had a much better year. Someone who knows how to sell a play-action pass and hit a receiver in stride.

BH was just too amped up in the Auburn game. We should have kept playing him and I think we beat bama which turns our season around.

Regardless who's the QB next year, LSU, or anybody else for that matter, has to have quality play and leadership from that guy. AJ has not evolved. I thought he should be the starter in the beginning of the season. Fine, but he made zero improvement. We need improvement at the QB position. That lack of improvement is holding the whole team back. BH complicated everything with his Auburn game. However I think BH should have been taking more snaps. I can't understand why CLM so quickly throws the towel in on some of our QB's.

No reasonable expectations until the coach is gone
