I have an Optimax 225 with 2400 hours on it that says otherwise. It could blow up tomorrow (I sure hope it doesn't), but I have had to change a compressor on it other than that it's been by far the best motor I've ever owned.
There is no end to this debate, I have had Yamaha, mercury, Suzuki, and all of them had given me problems at some point. It's just part of owning a boat/motor. Any of them can screw you on any given day.

Truth
I was watching those wierdos on "Whale Wars" and saw their RIB go dead in the water and need to be rescued when both engines shut down.......Mercurys hahahaha......made me think of this thread
