I could not believe it . $ 350.00 or more for a pretty damn good replica of an A-R . We were over for Christmas dinner and the kid had a collection of 3-4 of these guns not including the pistols. What say you? Weird or not ?

For that money, no way I'm buying. I'd buy him a .22 and teach him how to really shoot. JMO.

That's a lot of money, but at least he can teach/shoot in city limits

I had a $50 m16 type. Me and bro shot each other a lot with those

I couldn't believe all the accessories and crap . These things were as close to a real weapon without being real as you could get . Expensive as hell.

How old is the kid?
IMO those are for pussy kids.
My son said the kids at school talk about their air soft guns and he talks about his 3 .22 rifles, .22 revolver, .44 mag rifle, and 20 gauge.
I'd never waste money on stuff like that.

That's about $300 more than I would spend on a toy gun.

Airsoft battles are fun but I'd never spend that kind of money on one. To some people that may be chump change though.

I guess it's safe and the Dad doesn't have to put out the effort of teaching hunting skills and all . My 10 year old has a 22mg , 20 ga, 410 and 243 . In todays world it might freak me out a little to see a kid coming down the street packing one of these . Just saying .

No doubt. Not to mention if the child is seen by law enforcement.
These toy guns sound fun if they're confined only to an enclosed backyard, imo.

When I picked it up , I was like WTF . They are made of a metal not plastic. I couldn't tell it from a real gun even after I held it . I haven't ever shot an AR or any assault rifle by the way .

You're right, I guess I'm just a cheap old bastard.

Nah, I'm as thrifty as they come. I don't care how much money I have, I'm still looking for value. I'm a functional type and would rather spend that $300 on something that can be used more often and practical than an airsoft battle.

Unfortunately not every kid gets the chance to shoot live ammo whether it be parents or other resources - for some air soft is their .22, 44mag and shotgun so they spend money it like we would live guns - nothing wrong with it.

I have both.
I can only shoot one of them at people with going to jail.

quote:My boys have all the gun's you mentioned but replace the .243 with a 7mm08. They also love airsoft. There are about 6 boys all 12 and under within walking distance of our house that join up in the woods and have 'wars'. I'm lucky enough to live in the country where they have more land than their legs would care to cover in one day to play around on, so they aren't walking down the street with them in a highly populated area. I don't spend $350 on individual guns, but they do have several hundred dollars worth(some bought with their own money). We used to play the same games back in the day, but we filled our pockets with rocks to throw at each other.

I have seen more eye injuries from air soft guns than I care to talk about. parents just don't realize the damage kids can do with them and IMO don't teach safety with them since they are "toy" guns.

Gun safety is a priority. My boys have the face shields and wear pants and long sleeve shirts. They also understand that shooting at each other during their 'wars' from a distance is ok, but get caught shooting someone up close and the guns go away.

I had one, that was solid metal and weighed about as much as my AR, it was a beast.
I didn't realize how strong it was until I shot one of the lower ranking guys and drew blood from about 30yards. We experimented and it would blow through a Coke can from 20yds.
Hurt like hell but they're fun.
