There are a couple of "insiders" on a couple of different pay and lesser know michigan websites that are saying he signed last night. You can get most of the information by following the path on mgoblog. One of the insiders supposedly is a relative and said its over and it could be leaked or found out or reported etc anytime in the next day or two. Happy holidays and I wish you all a harbaugh new year.

I'm pretty sure he can't do that without first resigning from his current job.
I guess it doesn't matter if you breach a contract you don't intend to keep but it's not exactly smart.

He can when the buyout has already been arranged. Michigan is giving SF 2.5 million.

No idea where did you get the 2.5 million.
Michigan pay nothing to 49ers.49ers and Michigan will work together to make sure JH not in NFL
49ers does not want JH in Raiders. if he turns around Raiders and 49ers botch the next hire, 49ers fan base will be mad at the owner.
They will never let this happen. Go to Michigan or we will hold you until all NFL jobs filled. Any NFL team need to talk to 49ers first before talk to JH. Bears wanted to talk to 49ers about JH, was told 'too late'.

One of the insiders posted the buyout amount. Harbaugh has a 5 million dollar buyout on his contract 49ers let him go for half.

It's interesting that he is basically going to Michigan because he has been backed into a corner and will be blackballed from getting any NFL job. Not exactly a ringing endorsement of a long term desire to coach at Michigan. More like his hand is forced.

Where are you getting this info?
Schefter and Clayton called Harbaugh to UM a lock last time round.

Huh?
There are about 5 teams that are going to make a move for him on Monday.

And all of those teams will have to pay the 49ers an excessive amount just to free him from his existing contract. From what I have read, Michigan will not.

Not only that but the 49ers still "own" his rights being that he is still under contract. The 49ers have all the leverage in terms of where they could possibly trade Harbaugh to. Harbaugh has no say so & I seriously doubt the he allows the 49ers to dictate his next potential stop in the NFL. Other NFL organizations cannot contact Harbaugh without going through the 49ers. It's not like he will become a free agent once the season ends. Some people are acting like he will be free to sign with any NFL franchise once the season ends Sunday. That isn't the case unless the 49ers release or fire him.

This is somewhat true. Harbaugh can veto any trade though. He basically can say to SF I will not accept a trade to any team. He can still leave and go to Michigan and there is nothing they can do.
It really is all moot though, I have seen from two different sources (vetted by forum members pay sites etc..) that he already signed

Well shite, forum/site-vetted sources are about as legit as it gets. And two of them? This shite's over boys.
LOL at the notion that Harbaugh would sign ANY contract without assessing all of his options. Black Monday hasn't even happened, he's not even in a position to do so. Yet these people think he's already signed a contract?
Michigan is my new favorite delusional fanbase.

How about all the NFL guys changing their tune, it used to be he would never go back to michigan.. then it was maybe he will, now its he probably will.
Check out arthur regner on twitter, he said they are coming next week, not a question but a statement. He works for Fox sports detroit is that a reliable source?
Posted on 12/25/14 at 10:41 pm to Trublue
Adam Schefter is a reliable source and he said Harbaugh to UM last time.
Harbaughs agent obviously blows a lot of smoke. Why is it a fire this time? Because local guys are saying it?

I'd say it is different this time because almost all local guys are saying it and getting more confident in it happening, and their confidence growth has coincided with the changing tune of the NFL reporters who for the longest time didn't think there was a chance. Just too much smoke for it not to be happening.
I have been reluctant to buy in because it's seems too good to be true, but I'm about 85% right now confidence that it's actually happening.

I love this place and I am going to miss coming here every few years ;)
It is done you can believe or not, Brian the guy that runs Mgoblog
"HAPPENING BITS.I've heard word that there's a large event on Tuesday night that the catering staff has been asked to keep secret—something that they've never been asked about before.
A son of a current coach is telling co-workers that it's happening and his dad is being retained.
1201 South State Street is getting mail addressed like this from NFL compounds:"

You better hope to God that ATL wins on Sunday, because if the don't, Uncle Artie's gonna kick Mike Smith's arse to the curb and offer SF a Home Depot full of money for Harbaugh.
