You don't pay taxes?
In theory? Yes. In practice? No. I already get my check from Uncle Sam - he takes part of it back so we don't all get lynched by the proletariat - but all that is taxpayer money.
It's an accounting fiction that federal employees and soldiers "pay" taxes. They "return" taxes. I think that's where the word "return" even comes from.

Exactly, you've proven you will follow the erroneous leadership of the federal government for a cut of the payoff.
I follow the orders of the officers appointed above me and the President of the United States, as I have sworn to do, in addition to protecting and defending the Constitution, period.
ETA: And sorry for lumping you in with the 9/11 truthers - we've had our battles on here over the years, but I catch myself agreeing with you, occasionally - I'm a free trade, non-interventionist, too - from a core philosophical standpoint.

I have coworkers - professionals, mind you - that adamantly refute this very obvious fact. Even when I specifically exclude any outside income from investments, businesses, etc.
They are in denial about their not really "paying" taxes.

Unlike most of the folks who post here, I don't get my stories from chain e-mails. I know what kind of atrocities were committed. I don't think you do.

the patronizing arrogance of an uneducated idiot. Thanks for pointing yourself out to us.

It took you this long to notice?

I'm a little late to the thread. It always makes me chuckle, though.

The hauntingly gorgeous and long-suffering Mrs. Pimp and her family have some pretty solid "atrocity" stories. They can tell you how the Viet Cong did targeted assassinations in their village for years and how grateful they were to Americans who offered even nominal protection. And how they would single out men for public execution and torture them in front of their families. And they can tell you about how when the Americans left that void was filled by an infinitely worse entity that systematically slaughtered and imprisoned in reeducation camps everyone who offended them. They can tell you about the day they came for their family, and how they took the family home and business along with all their possessions. And how a few years later The Khmer Rouge came across the border to her city and slaughtered thousands more for good measure. And about how they crossed the Sea of Thailand in a leaky boat and lived in a tent in Malaysia for a year.
It's not a story that many young people know. Everybody knows about My Lai and about how horrible America is/was. They don't know much about the millions murdered in SE Asia after we left for some reason.

Absolute truth.
Wars should be a last resort. Then, fought to unconditional surrender.

Regardless of who wins, civilians lose.
There are no civilians in a war. Those that you refer to as civilians are supporting the war effort thru taxes, production of food, fuel or weapons/weapons systems, etc.
Go read The Art of War by Zhu.

I'm pretty sure you just nullified The Geneva Convention. Not bad for an afternoon's work.
And silly you telling people to read Sun Tzu. This is the PT. We read that shite in kindergarten sandwiched between War and Peace and The Prince. The PT bruh. This is The Big Leagues. We define Poli Legit.

We did just that with Vietnam and other nations. We made demands. They conceded. We then normalized.
LSUpimp, I would like to learn more about this process of normalizing relations with Vietnam. Perhaps this process would be a good model relative to Cuba.
Congress has not yet lifted the embargo. There is still time to negotiate some terms with Cuba.
What specific US demands did Vietnam submit to as a condition of normalizing relations?

I'll have to keep an eye on you. I don't want to miss a chance to learn something from you.

I have no illusions about the VC and the horrors they inflicted on the civilian population. I'm happy that your wife and her family survived and that she found happiness with a true gentleman like yourself.

The concept of The Geneva Convention is insane.
It might work if we only counted coup instead of killing enemy combatants.
Go talk to the American Indian about the impact of losing a war...
Just saying..
Posted on 12/20/14 at 5:17 pm to Layabout
Why would you post a pic of dead combatants?

The difference seems to be that when American troops are involved, it's an aberration as opposed to routine tactics.
