When you spend $70 Million on a house you might as well have the most insane home defense weapon you can find.
(I seriously doubt it's operational)

I remember back in the days I delivered pizzas in this rich part of town. When I'd get up towards the top of the hills, I'd start seeing houses that look like this from the outside. I always remember thinking "Those houses look kind of modest for rich people"
Guess I was way off

I agree. My 8 year old nephew was in town and was building all kinds of machines from the redstone circuits. He was learning relays, nor gates, and all kind of basic electronic flow, and schematic understandings. I thought it was awesome, at eight, I couldn't understand how a switch worked, then make a repeating switch using relays and such. There is a lot of stuff in the game.
Plus the games core is collecting resources to build things. The entire game is very educational. Then it also gives them adventure, and battles. It's a great game, because it's so many games, with an expansive universe.
I agree that it's one of the best games ever.

You were a good delivery boy. I hope I tipped enough.

Guess he never learned any finance while he was learning computers and gaming stuff.

Why would buying in cash help him get it over Beyoncé and Jay-Z? I am sure they would be approved for that loan with a phone call.

I know right, I guess some people don't understand that when you finance a home the seller does in fact receive cash from the bank.

I wasn't insinuating that cash was the reason for his winning the bid. It's just baller as frick to throw down $70MM in cash for a house.

Lots of Jelly School scholars in here.

I'm sure there's a multitude of ways he could have financed it, but at the end of the day, he has enough money to NGAF.
Posted on 12/19/14 at 1:38 pm to HempHead
eh, I'd say it's more baller to take that $70M and put it into a fund that will generate 8-12% annual ROI and finance the house at a rock bottom rate and cash flow the entire situation so you end up generating income on your cash instead of sinking it into a static asset.

I hated living there.

It's still stupid to pay with cash when he could have gotten a loan at a lower rate than any of us, invested the money and earned a higher rate than he is paying AND written off any interest if it's his primary residence.

I feel like I could design a way more awesome house than that on a $70 million dollar budget. Like way more awesome.

Not understanding simple shite like this is why most athletes and celebs go broke.
