I dunno, I think he's gotten better as he got older, but he was still pretty dn good at LSU. It's hard to compare his results bc Bama has always been a better a program. He was primed to win another NC at LSU too bc the program he left Miles was absolutely loaded. The 2005-2007 roster was unbelievable.

Remember where you were before Miles? Uhh... LSU had the best coach in the country.
Actually, we had just lost the best coach in the country to the NFL. Y'all act like keeping Saban was option.

I could argue that LSU recruits itself.
You could try

Yeah...that 2005 recruiting class was awesome
LSU fans love them some revisionist history

You're saying the roster he left was not good? Bc of the recruiting class signed 2 months after he left? That's stupid.

Les Miles from an outsider Guys, I read all these posts about wishing Miles would leave baton Rouge and I believe you guys have hit your head. Yes, Miles will make a bonehead coaching call a few times a year, however, something things are glaring truths. 1.) the dude can effing recruit 2.) remember where you were before Miles!!! 3.) His players love him and would run through a wall for him. I think you guys are lucky to have Miles, I would love Les Miles as a coach if Gus was to ever move on. Just my two cents.
As a man who saw his first LSU home game in Tiger Stadium in 1963 and still sit in the same seat I can say this board has some very unrealistic posters who have not a clue how the business or the game of college football actually is. I agree in general with your statement. There are some good posters here and can have a good productive argument on both sides of the issue but most are simply way out of their league, fair weather fans, many whom have never sat in the stadium much less attended a class at LSU.
Ignore them.

I'm saying Saban didn't recruit shite in 2004.

Maybe not, I don't remember. But the team he left was loaded and looked a lot like his recent Bama teams.

I don't think any of his recent bama teams would've gotten embarrassed by Iowa

I know you have your agenda, but be sensible.

Oh...well in that case.
Ironic that some people have hated Miles since the '05 UT game

He had 2 great recruiting classes back to back and we never got to see what he would do with them

And their revisionist history is mind boggling

Definitely revisionists, but many are to young to remember on here and a few more older ones are not happy people.

What revisionist history do you keep referring to?

Miles never gets credit for being a great program CEO
That is my biggest fear about him leaving is hiring the guy that can't run an elite program with everything that involves
