You're way behind the curve. It's already been proven that it's on the helmets. Try to keep pace.

Your troll is noted. That symbol and/or phrase has been used by the US Navy for almost 240 years. Whether or not the tea party and/or libertarians have adopted it in the last 5 or so is irrelevant. I can guarantee you that it has nothing to do with politics.

The game has gone on for 110 years. It has never appeared on a uniform or helmet. Why now? Hmmmm? Because we have a President in the last 6 years who hates the military.
We have a right wing reaction to Obama and they have claimed the motto.

So, all of a sudden, after 110 years you believe it is a total coincidence that the Tea Party phrase goes on the helmets? Really? Do you want to look that stupid?

And, when I first started this thread you didn't believe the phrase was on the helmets. Now, you know it is there. Doesn't that make you feel kind of stupid?

Regardless, we know we won't be seeing "Hands up! Don't shoot!" from these guys. They're quality people, unlike those fools at Harvard.

Oh, and, GEAUX ARMY!

They need a win.

Not sure they are actually making any sort of statement. As others have said, it's been in use for over 200 years.

However you are right that the phrase has been commandeered by the Tea Party and right-wing activists over the past 5-10 years, so it is interesting that they chose to display it anyway.

If they didn't mean to use it to make a statement, I commend them for not being afraid to use it anyway. I am not a fan of political correctness.

You're an idiot.

I saw the uniforms a few days ago (there are articles previewing them all over the web). I knew what was on them. I was incredulous because I honestly didn't believe that you thought that someone had put that phrase on there as a political statement. I thought you were trolling.

You weren't. You're just a fool. You're the worst kind of fool at that--an old fool.

I am sort of disappointed they didn't come out with "PANTS UP - DON'T LOOT!!" signs.

I love these kids who go to military academies. No finer people in the world.

This patch is issued to every sailor and officer assigned to or assigned in support of the CENTCOM AOR. I wore it from the day I arrived there in May of 2012 until the day I left at the end of March of this year. There is nothing interesting here aside from the ignorance of someone Zach's age.

I was obviously not trolling. Which one of us is a fool is for our readers to determine.

Nothing personal, 74. My Dad was an Army man

PS - Zach's a good guy, although I think he's mistaken about any Tea Party connection with that slogan. You can disagree with him without calling him a fool, right?

That's right, which is why I'm glad they decided to use it on the football helmets for their nationally-televised game.

People could have used it to make a political point (which I think was the point of the OP), but they didn't care. I like that.

Then why hasn't it been worn on a helmet in 110 years until today? Hmmmm?
