Dear Sir:
Coach Miles is a brand unto himself, and has a 10-year record that is to be applauded.
At the same time, he does not deserve any additional raises if he decides to consider the Michigan job.
Since this is the third dance with the Michigan position, and since the first two dances yielded He and his agent with extensions and notable increases in salary, that game should not be played a third time.
Please call the bluff, or relent and let him go, if this occurs again.
If he loves LSU, his current salary is perfectly suitable, and he should be perfectly happy with staying based on his current contract.
If he chooses to go to Michigan, lets be understanding and thank him for being a great representative of LSU, and wish him the best as he moves back "home" to where it all started for him.
If he stays, great. If he leaves, good luck.
In either case, please do not change his contract.
Thanks for your consideration.

Why do you care what someone else makes?
Posted on 12/10/14 at 4:38 pm to Football_Freak
to be fair
he won a national championship and went 10-2 and blew out A&M in the cotton bowl the last two times Michigan came a calling
Might have helped him get a raise as well.

How about this.
Grow a fricking pair and threaten to burn down the SEC officials, and put a voodoo curse on all of them until the fix the "referee situation"

Miles getting a raise upsets so many people and I honestly have no idea why. Do you think LSU can't afford it? Do you think he has no business getting a raise?

Because I buy the product and pay a substantial TAF fee each year. Do the math. A Miles increase directly relates to TAF/Tradition fees and ticket prices. Always has and always will correlate. For those who watch on tv or are given tickets or buy single game tickets occasionally, well...they probably share your perspective and question. The others don't have to ask the question, and they are the ones who fund his salary to begin with.

If you think that TAF fees going up has anything to do with what Miles makes you are dumber than even your letter indicates

Mr. Alleva:
It's a tradition to have LSU games played at night but it would be nice to have at least one day game so that the masses can appreciate the night games. I don't leave at halftime so I'm always getting home at 2am, which sucks. Please look into having one day game per year.

I agree with this. The rest of that was unnecessary.
While I'd certainly like Miles to stay, there is simply no way I could justify a pay raise or extension on an already high salary with several years left on the deal. Nothing that has happened the past two seasons warrants a raise and extension from what is already in place.
That's not a shot at Miles...far from it. But I don't think you could justify bumping him up at this point.

You really have nothing better to do than type that garbage?
Btw I agree with you

Maybe some people don't want to see a year like this one rewarded.

I don't. Certainly not based on his Won Loss record the last 3 years.
He should be paying some of his salary back.

Fair market value is fair market value. That's how this free market thing works.
