I'm critical of the science, specifically, the overconfidence in an extremely uncertain system (e.g., the specificity of the coefficients, prediction estimates, and causal explanations); however, overconfidence in the alternative (i.e., cooling) deserves scrutiny as well. I think there are far more well-formed criticisms and studies than this borderline conspiracy theory drivel.

Seriously dude...
those of us able to source and vett information destroyed this guy and the information you provided via him about 2 weeks ago. you should probably do a little more research.
but be my guest, get your lame arse gotcha moment in and feel good about your participation in the climate change debate

He's peddling his book, similar to those how to prepare for the coming market crash scams. Are you really that dumb?

I understand that...but let's scrutinize the credibility of the "global warming alarmist" just as much as this guy or the "Ones peddling global market scams".....
These statements that the "science" has been settled are hogwash....and if you are not agenda driven...like TUba...you understand this.

You could have linked one of the many scientific criticisms of climate change science. Instead you linked a poor source that is patently unscientific and presented as a "gotcha." I think this makes it reasonable to question whether you are willing to think critically about this issue; not unlike questioning those that use An Inconvenient Truth as a "gotcha." Neither source or argument is worth much.

That link is just as bad as the MSM links that Tuba posts. It reads like an infomercial.
ETA: wait, it is an infomercial.

Wow. 22 B. That's a lot. Wanna guess at how much the fossil fuel industry profits annually?
From the "white paper":
If the temperature has been dropping ever since, how come it isn't?
Its hard to take a paper seriously that puts so much stock in 1998 and doesn't even mention El Nino
Which paper? Link? Datatset? No? So we can't even really verify that the chart in the "white paper" is correct? We don't even know what its measuring except its temperature of something.
K.

The problem with that argument is that we experienced the bulk of that warming between 1979 and 1998 . . . we’ve actually had temperatures DROPPING ever since!

Just take a look at this chart from Remote Sensing Systems, which provides data to NASA, NOAA, and other scientific organizations.

Funny I don't recall reading any climate papers from actual scientific journals that mention who is liberal and who is conservative. It goes both ways though, right?

I gotta say its sad to see a former NASA scientist drop so low he's citing Steve Goddard as evidence of anything.
Let me ask you this Jim - if I take a temperature measurement in the same place and time - say 3 pm - every day for 20 years - and then I decide to change the time of measurement from 3 pm to 3 am - does that mean the Earth has cooled? If I look at the "raw" data from such a weather station, it would seem as if the average temperatures dropped by like 10 or 20 or 30 degrees almost instantly! This is the kind of obvious shite that folks like Steve Goddard do not comprehend. They truly believe the "raw data" has the true climate signal.

Yep...I get what you are saying. 20 years worth of data out of 4.5 billion years is just silly. Right?

I am about as hardcore a AGW skeptic as there is on this board, but, man, that link reads like it came straight from this guy's publicist.
