Those last two threes were money, and I don't think LSU wins without them.

As ugly as the shot is I agree with this...hes still the best outside shooter on the team so even though I would never make a shot shooting that way hes obviously comfortable with it

I will say so far ive been pretty impressed with TQ's improvement on his outside shot. Last season he looked awkward and uncomfortable from outside but this year he looks smooth and confident out there.

But right now he's a liability, he turns it over a ton and shoots 90% of the time he touches it even when he is open. His shot is real flat which means he's a very streaky shooter, but even when he's off he shoots a lot of low percentage I'll advised shots

This is what annoys me. People come out of nowhere in basketball. People thought the team would be good so they jumped on board...2 losses and everybody sucks...huge win and they're back on board saying stupid STUPID shite.

How does he turn it over too much? We had 24 tonight and he had 2. He's averaging less than 2 turnovers a game. He's shooting 35% from 3, it'll probably end up being around 38%, and 42% overall. He's getting better the more comfortable the team gets. Also, ugly form, but he does not shoot a flat shot...I honestly don't know where you get that.

I guess also we're just not talking about how he gets more than 5 rebounds a game, averages over 2 assists, and has nearly 2 steals a game. Naaa we don't wanna bring facts in here, we just wanna shite on him because he's a white guy with an ugly shot. There's no reason to hate on Hornsby AT ALL

He can also take a deliberate shot to the nose quite .well. Should have been a flagrant foul.

That series of events was so bad. They had a 5-second call they didn't call, and the guy called Timeout when they had none left. Then Hornsby gets smoked in the face and is bleeding and it's a normal foul

you said it very well LSUbutt.

It seems, for whatever reason, when Hornsby is on the court, this team plays a little bit better.

the dude definitly has an ugly shot, but it is successful and any shooting coach will tell a player to go with what works.

im not talking bad about gray because i like him a lot and love what he brings to the table but hornsby plays better D and takes care of the ball a little more conservatively than gray./

FACT: He has the best vertical jump on the team. I would estimate it to be around 38 to 42 inches. He also has the ugliest shot on the team and when he isn't making them, he looks confused to the average fan.

He also played some tenacious defense.

"The only thing that annoyed me is they kept saying that LSU was "playing West Virginia basketball"."

I think this is out of respect to Huggins more than anything else. Probably would have been more apt to reference their coach as he has long established his ability to coach teams in that style of play.

I dont see this at all...sure he has an awkward shot and hasnt been shooting well but thats basketball. Youre gonna go through hot and cold periods.

But I dont see him as a liability at all cause he does so many other things. He rebounds very well for a guard, brings lots of energy, plays good D and deflects a lot of balls.

With his awkward shot he's going to be a streaky shooter. You're going to get nights where everything he throws up from deep goes down coupled with other nights where he can't throw it in the ocean. I don't mind him shooting often early in games in an effort to get himself in rhythm.

But I agree that he does other things well, especially rebounding. Mickey and Martin are avg. nearly 10 RPG. When you can get a guard to help out, teams are going to have to shoot it well to beat LSU because they're only going to get one shot a possession.

I am coming around on Hornsby. His shot is so ugly that I have to remind myself not to judge whether he can shoot on just a few misses. If he had a prettier shot with more orthodox form, I would not have judged so much.

One thing I really liked - even though he had a number of them rim out - was that he seemed more willing to pull up and shoot a short J on the blowby rather than always going to the rack. I think he is realizing that against top teams, he is going to struggle to finish and the little pull-up - with him a big often running at him - opens up excellent offensive rebounding possibilities.
