Favorite Donuts

I love donuts. All donuts.
I used to be a big KK fan, and I could still down 6-8 if I was so inclined.
But now I am partial to chocolate frosted cake, those lemon filled powdered sugar ones and the sour cream.
Is a donut discussion allowed?

I wish we had better donut options in New Orleans.
Blue Dot is where I go (closest to me). The donuts are great, but sometimes the line is OUTSIDE. Often they are closed by Noon, and they rarely have what I want (apple fritters) if I don't get there VERY early.

Why not ?
I'm not a donut eater but they have a peanut and jelly banana donut at this shop by my house. I find myself going there from time to time.

I haven't had one in about 6 months. Once I hit my target weight I'm going to celebrate with 2 donuts.

Southern Maid when I am in Shreveport, Shipley's in Houston
I'll eat pretty much any donut, but prefer chocolate iced, some sort of filling, then glazed

It wasn't my thread. I was interested in the donut part of it, so I was ticked it got canned.
So this is actually a legit thread. Maybe lame, but not done to be clever.

I don't really eat donuts anymore, the admin of this board is a real douchefag, but Krispy Kreme works for me.

Donuts are the finest Fat Tablet ever developed by mankind.
There was a time when I could eat a dozen - maybe three if I had a quart of Dutch chocolate milk. Then I gave them up. Sounds foolish doesn't it...
Vendors bring Krispy Kream donuts by the multiple dozens to our offices and everyone stands back in admiration and fear when I wipe the tiny beads of sweat from my upper lip and mumble "no thanks".
I still look to see if the red light is on when we pass a KK shop. I have no idea why because I have no intention of stopping, I just do.
I still dream about them from time to time. when I waken from a donut dream, I get out of bed and walk the darkness of our house until the shakes subside.
My favorite donut type product was always the FAF (Fried Apple Fritter). I haven't had one in maybe eight or nine years. IMO, there was nothing better than a fresh fried apple fritter (FFAF) and a diet Dr. Pepper. Would someone go eat one today in memory of my good old days?
They still call to me when I pass by a pastry shop. When they do, I just white knuckle my way on by and try not to think about anything for a few blocks.
A couple of nice illegal aliens opened a donut shop near (+- 2 miles south of) our house six months back. I went in for a quick look a week or two after their grand opening and immediately saw a tray of demon infected apple fritters mocking me from behind that glass fronted, fluorescent lit, fritter retention case. They laughed hysterically "You Will Be Back" as I staggered out the door and back to the safety of my truck. I wish the PoPos would come shut them down and drag them back to Guatemala (curse you and your candy assed immigration policy Mr. Obama).
Will this agony ever stop?

If anyone ever has a chance to eat here, do it.

We have a box in the office right now. Whenever we do, I always look to see what's in there even though I'm not going to have one.
I also look eagerly at the "Hot Donuts Now" sign at KK even though I'm not stopping.
And I create a thread about donuts that I won't be eating.
My only consolation is that I am not off of them forever. But I won't be eating 3 or 4 at a time anymore.

Best I've ever had were at Shipley's in Bunkie. There's a new place in Denham (Big Easy Beignets) that has some seriously legit strawberry cake donuts w/ cream cheese icing and cake crumbles.
As far as plain glazed go, it's hard to beat straight-from-the-conveyor-belt hot glazed from KK.

I like the fluffy traditional style glaze donuts, like Mary Lee or Tastees. Not that imitation slick as goose shite donuts KK produces
