Iconic Music Venues: Red Rocks vs. The Gorge

Name: Red Rocks
Location: Morrison, CO
Capacity: 9.450
or
Name: The Gorge
Location: George, Washington
Capacity: 27,500
If you had a chance to see your favorite band at either one of these venues, which would it be. Price, distance, or current state of musician does not matter.

Almost a coin toss. Loved my time at both.
Gorge has better camping and more remote.
RdRx has better acoustics and is close to Boulder.
I'd prolly say Red Rocks though because I've had so many great experiences there. That nostalgia.
A little biased. Only been to the Gorge once, for 3 days, but have been to RdRx 10+ times.
Eta:
Gorge has better lot scene layout.
Gorge has better view.
Red rocks can feel cramped.
Colorado weather is better all around but Washington summer is the jam.
ETA2: red rocks has better facilities

I've seen a dozen or so shows at Red Rocks and maybe half that at the Gorge. The Gorge is the best all around venue in the United States.

Gorge over red rocks just b.c there is camping on site.
Its a bitch to get to though.
I go to a red rock or show a year, probably about 30 total over my life. The reality is the acoustics just aren't very good. yes its beautiful but unless you are upfront you can't hear shite.

That seems like a negative to me. I can go to Red Rocks and sleep in a bed that night.
Never been to the Gorge but want to go. I was at a concert at RR and next to me was a couple that was talking about the Gorge. I asked them which one they thought was better and they both said Red Rocks and it wasn't close. Still want to find out for myself though.
Bands really seem energized by the beauty of Red Rocks and seem to give their best performances there for the most part. The acoustics are fantastic too, especially if you're back from the stage. Weather tends to be a bit unpredictable so you have to pack rain gear more often than not.

Haven't been to The Gorge but I've been to Red Rocks plenty. RR rules but I'd like to make it to The Gorge one day.

Never been to the Gorge but it's on my list. Red Rocks will be tough to beat for me nothing like watching a show and having elk walking around above you. Also can go play red rocks on your own when not in use since it's open to the public. With all it's history pretty awesome jamming up there even if it's empty.

I've been to maybe 35-40 concerts at Red Rocks. I have never had a chance to go to The Gorge. Looks insane though.

The Gorge is a great venue! It is also a pain in the arse to get to, and even more of a pain in the arse to leave. Think LSU football game traffic pain in the arse. On steroids. I've quit going to shows there but will go again as soon as my helicopter is fully functional.

Never had a huge desire to see a show at either, but I would say RR...

I've only been to the gorge (2 times for Sasquatch). It's the best venue that I've been to.
Haven't been to RR but would like to.
