I really wish I wouldn't have fricked it up that day. I was at the peak of my powers then. I would have loved to frick up da future. Especially knowing how much of a tool he turned out to be.

I ruptured my achilles showing my sons team how to rebound when he was seven. Went up for a rebound and it just popped.

This thread has reminded me of when I played middle school basketball. To say our team was piss poor would be an understatement. That didn't stop our coach from getting scrappy. This guy came into every practice and game reeking of cigar smoke. He most definitely liked to get his sauce on after the game. He had to have gotten kicked out of over half our games. Some of the funniest times of my life.

you come from a very,...uhhhh...,interesting coaching tree
who do you count as your coaching idol and mentor?
should I put you in the DBrouss or EMou mold? more of a Larry Comeaux type? Fancy yourself a JPB disciple? Maybe a fan of the Boooooge and Strojjjknee school of thought? or do you want to be like Coach Biggie and loved and respected by all?

I'm an EMou "I'm way too cool for all of you" type at practice but I talk a little shite like Strojny but it's actually witty and not gay because I'm not a former cop, mixed in with just blatantly stealing Danny's X's and O's during the game.
Kiely's dad was the ref who threw the point guard out of the game
Dude called my games when I was that age

I had a line in there about JPB and getting fricked up but I deleted it.

If I am in town, we will go out to the Tap Room after the Sunkist and we can tell EMou stories.
everybody steals from Dbrouss, who originally stole from everybody else

when I worked MS games with him he would leave his whistle hanging around his neck for a quarter at a time. he would have to pick it up to blow it

there are a few still working that called when I was in MS and HS and I graduated in 1990

We're in the junior sunkist week after next, I think. We've got a 6'1 kid who can handle the ball and is just now figuring it all out. His dad isn't very tall, so I don't know if he's topped out, but he's one to look out for.
And I do want to make it a point if I get the time to go see Eli play. Saw Emou at a softball tourney and he told me he's turning the keys over to him this year.

Sounds like you got a couple floor generals..

Did you wear a suit during the game?
Eta: saw you answered that.

We've got one really good floor general but he had to sit tonight because he got a tech last game.
We still eeked out a gutsy victory.
2-0, babe

I need you to come light a fire under our boys. They could give two shits and practice like it too.
We're going to get waxed next week. And I'm actually looking forward to it because maybe they'll figure out they actually have to learn something in practice.

That's our problem, too. We won the league last year and these kids walk in with the big head and think these teams are going to roll over because of the name on the front of our jersey. We scored 5 points in the first quarter. There was one possession where the other team got 4 offensive rebounds and ended the possession by making a three. Down 14 at half and 10 to start the 4th. All this with 6 minute quarters.
I told them it was a gutsy win, but I lit their asses up too. It was not a post-game speech full of butterflies and rainbows.

These guys will run one movement of the motion offense and whoever has it is like "ah f-it" and two guards I took that hustled during tryouts give about 15% effort now. Wish I would have taken two other kids that weren't as athletic but would hustle and play hard.

I'm about to implement a "no jump shots in the first quarter" rule. We settle for too many easy jumpers and they don't fall and then we're lazy getting back.
And with those two guards... I'd play their backups even if we get smoked. Make a point early in the season. Your job is not guaranteed. I'd rather lose with the less talented guy giving a shite than the prima donna half-assing it.
