The difference isn't as radical as you pretend. Both weren't scared to fight adults
Do you admire people, especially teenagers, who are afraid to fight? What kind of standard is that for judging people? It's been a long, long time since I've been in a fight, I'm not proud of it, I tried to avoid it but I wasn't afraid of it either. This is a weak argument IMO.

Wilson may have been afriad for his life, but I doubt that Zimmerman was, otherwise he wouldn't have been followng Martin. On the other hand, Martin had plenty of reason to be afriad on Zimmerman, and if Martin was White and Zimmerman was Black, you wouldn't have any problem understanding this. Also, I'm not sympathetic to Zimmerman even if he was afraid because he put himself in this situation.

You would think fatal police shootings would be roughly the same as the murder rate, maybe a bit higher but not that much of a difference!
Alas, CONCENTRATION plays a role too.
Don't get me wrong. I think I'm well known on this board as NOT being friendly in general to the police. And, I am pretty darned certain that police do in fact approach blacks differently than whites on the whole.
But, that doesn't mean that there isn't more to the stats you cite. Also, the stats presuppose that white suspects and black suspects act the same when they encounter cops. A dubious presupposition if ever there was one.

Blacks are killed at a rate 21x than whites.
I did a quick google and Mother Jones, hardly an unsympathetic source, says that rate of arrest related deaths per million people for blacks is 3.66 while for whites it is .9

clearly there is more to it but on the surface it should make EVERYONE scratch their head. Its fricking ridiculous if you ask me.

The only thing an indictment would have done is delay the rioting and looting until after Wilson was found not guilty at trial.

Wut? Trackfan, the facts are the facts...
No one is admiring punks who like to fight. It's more about "I am sick of you" type of attitude. chip on their shoulders

Can you put yourself in the shoes of a homeowner who has heard about multiple break ins? Zimmerman made 3 calls to the police before the altercation. Who does that if there are no crimes in teh neighborhood? No one, but 50 calls, perhaps everyone of us do the same thing Zimmerman did? Call, wait and watch from distance...
Initially, I think he was worried another break in was about to take place, he was pissed and he was afraid he was going to get away "again".
My point is, prior crimes impacted that nights' altercation
If Zero break ins had occurred in that neighborhood, I am sure Zimmerman just keeps going
but because he and all his neighbor's are "sick of it"...he made the calls and followed him.
As a Dad, husband and tax paper, you either move or you get police involved ... Eventually, you move because the crime is too vast...
The reality is black boys are a problem in certain areas.. Being fearful of them is legit. Black people are afraid of them also...so...it is what it is...

21x!
And yes, blacks commit crimes at a rate far higher than whites. But overall, blacks are in prison at a rate roughly 6x than whites (all ages). Homicides they commit at 8x the rate (all ages)
eta: fix my error

I'm guessing you just did a horrible job at making your point.
Maybe you just need to give it another shot?

Apparently the folks at MSNBC didn't like my idea. Al Sharpton was on Morning Joe today, and not only did they not debate Ferguson, they went on and on about how much they admired and respected each other. They then both expressed agreement on Trayvon Martin and respectfully agreed to diagree on Michael Brown, before moving on to the next topic. They both stuck to the scripts, that I suspect had been handed to them by NBC executives. I was looking for a brawl and smooche fest broke out. It really was sickening.

Actually, Sharpton got onto Donnie Dousche because he called Brown a criminal.
Donnie didn't fight back.

I got the since that Donnie veered away from the script a little with that comment, and Sharpton was about to go into attack mode before he caught himself and then they quickly moved to the next topic. As I recall, Sharpton hadn't mentioned Ferguson before Donnie made that comment. I'm no fan of Sharpton, but Donnie can be a real prick sometimes.

Martin feloniously attacked Zimmerman, who was breaking no laws, and was killed in self defense
Brown felonious attacked Wilson, who was breaking no laws, and was killed in self defense.
Garner was just chill in on the block

bullshite!

Neither was Martin.

and was killed in self defense
This is irrelevant since in Florida, both sides can claim self-defense once a fight starts, regardless of who started it.

Brown felonious attacked Wilson, who was breaking no laws
Agreed.

and was killed in self defense.
According to the most credible witnesses, Brown was trying to give himself before Wilson fired the final shots, but I do fault Brown for putting himself in that situation in the first place.

Garner was just chill in on the block

You dispute that Martin feloniously attacked Zimmerman?
Based on what evidenxe/testimony?

I'm saying that based on the fact that we know Zimmerman was stalking Martin with bad intentions, I don't take his word on how the physical altercation started.
