We all know we'd be ripping Jennings if he did that.

It looks bad in the still shot due to the angle of the camera (which makes the black line drift to the right as you move up). But if you go vertically up from the tip of the football (note the red line in picture to the right)
your red line is at the angle......the black line is parallel with the lines on the field. It is correct.
Your red line goes from the ball(on the 49) to roughly the 48 yd line on the sideline, therefore your red vertical line is incorrect. However, it doesn't matter.....23-17 and we are done.

But, I still think we were offsides.
Probably. I just took it as karma for the bad PI call that basically kept them in the game in the first place.

No, the red line is vertical while the black line is horizontal. What matters is where his head is in relationship to the football (or the where the black line is) at his feet and not the part of the horizontal black line behind his head which is a couple yards close to the sideline (and thus shifted to the right).

It doesn't matter, the camera angle is not parallel to the line of scrimmage. TAM was not in a good situation but I understand why Kyle thought he had a free play, since he is looking at the center's butt and saw movement on the defense. Tough luck for the kid.
I learned along time ago that a win is a win and a loss is a loss regardless if it was fair or not on any particular play.
PP interception against Bama officially is not an interception. LSU lost and may have anyway, we will never know. I saw a famous LSU DB that played in the NFL for awhile throw down a Bama WR in the end zone and make an interception. LSU won and may have anyway, we will never know.
Yes I thought the PI against LSU was crap in the TAM game, but it simply doesn't matter.

Could've gone either way to be honest. Went our way. Bummer for A&M.
I agree with you siliconvalleytiger. It was basically a coin flip and could have gone either way. He did jump early, but he never crossed the ball or made contact with an offensive lineman. I would have been fine if the offsides call was made or not, but I am very happy to have it go our way.

Just wondering why the line you drew isn't parallel to the line on the field!!??????

There's a line judge looking straight down the line on every snap. He has the best view. It's his call.

We are not Bama. It was a bad no call. But frick we have said the refs suck all year.
THIS

Because the line I drew is vertical, just like the camera. Our player is directly in front of the football. All that matters is whether his head is directly over the football or if as is shown in the picture he doesn't get that far. The black line put in by the TV crew is meaningless. It shows where a foot on the ground would cross the line of scrimmage, not where the line would be 3 feet higher where our players head is positioned.
The camera is on the 50. The ball wasn't. You can't draw the line "vertical" (parallel) to the camera angle.

I can agree with this – it looks like offsides to me, based on the camera angle. but the line judges (there are two, I think) have the perfect line of sight for that call. I would trust that if neither of them made it, he probably was not offsides.
This is not like a pass interference call, where referee might be out of position on a play or have to make a judgment call. The line judge is standing right there and it's a clear black-and-white call.

That missed call was a makeup call from the Alabama game. They couldnt let the season end oweing us one so they paid it back on thanksgiving nights so be thankful for the no call.

Doesn't matter. No call. Interception. Ball game.
Typical LSU homer... Its OK when the refs give the calls or non call in LSU'S favor.. But heaven forbid they don't its always the reason they lose..

Are you saying it does matter?
