I had this idea:

Why didn't the insurance providers of these local businesses pool together some $$ for a trust for Wilson.
Manufacture a plea deal for him to get 3 years in a fed camp somewhere.
Serve 1.5 and retire at young age with a decent 'pension' and get work in another field.

This should have been done behind closed doors and made to look legit.
Nothing burns.
Everyone wants to talk about what's right and justice. Nobody wanted to just keep the peace.

So, just ignore justice. And have lawful people pay money and serve jailtime to keep people from breaking the law.
