We have way too much talent to lose to a team like ODU. I feel like we will always be out coached. 4th place is up for grabs in the SEC and we are gonna mess around and finish 9-9 again. It frustrating.

9-9 in the SEC. That would be a miracle. This team just lost to fricking Old Dominion. Think about that.

This sounds familiar to the Football team.

ODU is a better team than people are giving them credit here. They'll be in the mix in CUSA. This would have been a pretty good win had they got it. However, Jones doesn't and has never shown me anything as a coach. LSU continuosly has the same deficiencies: poor shot selection; no emphasis on FT shooting, horrible defensive execution. This group will have its share of good wins, but ultimately has too many coaching issues to consistently win games.

I am not his biggest fan, but this game doesn't lose me. Our offense is better, we just need to learn how to defend against a hot jump shooter. Clearly our "short guards" wasn't the issue. I've been waiting 6 years for Miles to learn how to run an offense, I can give cJJ until midseason to correct this.

JJ not even close to mediocre, he had plenty of talent to go to the big dance last year and simply did a terrible job. This year he has less talent and LSU will not even go 500 in conf. play.

We don't play as a team. It's just a bunch of individuals out there! "I got the ball! Boom. I'm shooting....and missing." Horrible team offense.

This is unbelievable! They lose one game, a close one at that, and they have the worst team in college basketball. First, ODU is quite good. LSU has new faces and is going to take some time to find its rhythm.

For heaven's sake, Kentucky lost 12 games last year with the best talent in the country, then rolled through the "Big Dance" and almost won it all!

Don't draw any conclusions until we are at least half way through the season.

And don't compare JJ to Miles or the football team. There is no comparison (yet)!

And oh by the way, Gardner-Webb knocked off Clemson tonite. Don't underestimate these mid-conference teams. Some of them are excellent teams. ODU also beat VCU, a regular cinderella in the NCAA tournament!

Just say he is the LSU coach. It means the same thing, regardless of which sport you are talking about.

The talent is not playing well. Coaching always has something to do with it but the players have to do what they are capable of also. So far they aren't and judging by their shooting they aren't great or even very good talent.

So far this season:

Jarrel Martin 43.2% shooting 1-11 on 3's
Tim Quarterman 35.3% 3-11 on 3's
Keith Hornsby 42.9% 8-19 on 3's
Jordan Mickey 60.6% Yes he is doing good. But he decided to take two 3's and missed both. Why is he shooting 3's? Do you think Jones tells him to?
Josh Gray 44.8% 2-5 3's Gray has been very unselfish so far and is trying very hard to set everyone else up. But when I see he has only taken 5 three point shots and Martin and Quarterman 11 each then that needs to change.

So do we have great talent? No not really. Do we have good talent, yes. Are they going to lose some games, especially in the early going, yes. Do we know whether they are a tournament team and will do well in SEC? Could go either way. Time will tell.
