Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. has expressed concerns privately to Missouri officials this week about their recent actions in advance of a grand jury’s decision in the Michael Brown case.

A top aide to Holder called the office of Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon (D) earlier this week to express Holder’s displeasure and “frustration” that the governor had declared a state of emergency at a news conference and activated the National Guard in advance of the grand jury decision in the Ferguson shooting, expected to be announced in the next few days, according to a Justice Department official.

“Instead of de-escalating the situation, the governor escalated it,” said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the subject. “He sent the wrong message. The tone of the press conference was counterproductive.”

No win situation for public officials in MO.

If they don't have an effective, prepared response that is able to handle widespread unrest, they get blamed for it.

If they are really prepared and bring the hammer to stop the widespread unrest, they are being oppressive.

Text book case for a no win scenario.

I'm frustrated Holder still isn't in jail for all of his lawless actions in the past.

I don't even listen to the substance of what Holder says anymore. If he says it, I pretty much assume it's 100% false and tailored to achieve a petty political end.

:popkern: @ whether or not the thousands who purchased firearms will use said firearms once the decision has been rendered.

DOJ: Don't judge these people based on their actions months ago, or last week, or yesterday!
