d you agree that she was the head of the IRS, appointed by Obama and nothing happened to her as a result of her actions on behalf of the President, correct?

IR-2005-148, Dec. 22, 2005 WASHINGTON — Lois G. Lerner has been selected as the director of the Exempt Organizations Division of the Internal Revenue Service. In this position, she will be responsible for administering and enforcing the tax laws that apply to more than 1.8 million organizations recognized by the IRS as exempt from tax.

this story is true
Well, they targeted Attkisson, Rosen, and other reporters at the AP - that part is true and should be terrifying to freedom loving people on both ends of the political spectrum and the quasi-mythical moderates.

the media is protecting Obama.
The non-Fox, non-WSJ media is protecting Obama and has protected Obama as much as they can. At some point, they have to cut bait on certain issues, but denying this destroys crediblity, IMHO.
I can't believe they still do it when liberal-friendly organizations like the AP get targeted - it boggles the imagination. I guess they're "all in" on the ends justifies the means bandwagon.

Yet you said I would have ran him out of town as well. So let me recap: I am the type of "ilk" that ran Nixon out of office. You would have done the same thing. "therein lies the difference between you and I"
I'm sorry, VB. I should've known you'd be willfully obtuse in order to deflect. It's one if your MOs. It's what you do.
Allow me to rephrase: I don't condone corruption EVEN WHEN ITS MY GUY WHO'S CORRUPT.
And THEREIN lies the difference between us.
ETA: and as for your "ilk" running Nixon out of Washington...you don't really believe the GOP initiated the charges against him, do you? The GOP went along with it, because at the time, they had people who DIDN'T put party ahead of the Constitution.

These filthy scumbags make Nixon look like an Eagle Scout.

That's true - she was never "head of the IRS" as I suggested, just the department that targeted the Tea Party. And she was not a direct Presidential appointee, but promoted from within. She did pretty well for a liberal who started with the FEC under Reagan.
But the President directed or approved still stands. She hasn't been prosecuted, has she? Is she even the subject of an investigation, other than by the House of Representatives?

So you don't get to keep crappy plans that don't meet the requirements of the ACA. Sorry.
Note: this meets the threshold of "explicit approval".

"He that leadeth into captivity...goeth into captivity" (Biblical/Book of Revelation). Which means that the ideas/actions that one embraces/supports - for whatever reason - become one's future reality.
Like the old adage re the 'boy who cried wolf', the MSM withholds information and supports outright lies. When the old Model (Constitutional/Individual Rights) does go away, and they end up being judged by a *Court* that is based upon half-truths, outright lies or merciless pragmatism like that of the Military Egyptian Revolution vs. the duly elected Muslim Brotherood...then they'll get it. Only then.
Strap in.
Live and learn.

quote:Gruber is an idiot, but unfortunately a very common idiot in government work. It was a mistake to let Obama say that without qualifications.
Which is fine if the law had been sold that way, honestly. They had to Gruber people to pass the bill. You don't see the inherent problem that people have with that?
quote:I don't recall a search warrant issued for Watergate, or any search for leaks in that situation. Feel free to correct me.
And I assume you take that position with regards to Nixon's actions following the Watergate break-in?
quote:I have dealt with a lot of crazies doing political work, some fighting on the same side I am. Their paranoia amps up and down on a regular basis, and usually runs out of control when they have an audience. The problem is when some people egg them on because it helps their cause.
I see the quandry this guy has put y'all in - you seem intellectually honest and engaging at times - but defending the indefensible costs you credibility. You want to say Attkisson is crazy and that may be right. But she was targeted by these people to keep her from investigating them.
Of that I have little doubt. Now, what happens when a crazy person is really being targeted? Their paranoia amps up big time. But it does not make them magically "untargeted", now does it?
When I was fighting the mayor on a big issue here I couldn't tell you how many phone calls and conversations I had with people giving me the "inside scoop". Of course one of the people who helped and actually got elected on his fame for helping told me about how he would help the police by tracking Al Qaeda operatives working out of mini-vans in the area. I was at least happy that only one of the two crazies helping our effort managed to get elected.

You don't know that. Neither does anybody else, other than the principles themselves, i.e., Lerner and Obama.

They don't believe their dear leader could do something wrong, especially target opposing views or those that try to bring his misdeeds to light.
Boy are they going to get kicked in the nuts when history proves how blindly wrong they are about their boy.

Well - we do know that. She conducted actions on the "tea party problem" to the benefit of the President - they were doing "whatever" they could "to help" - the question is - whether or not it was at his behest or not. But, regardless, she was not punished until the matter was made public.
I'm running out of inferences to draw - certainly POTUS was not lying when he said "most transparent administration" - and this is pretty transparent.
