Do we recruit pro-style QBs

Both Jennings and Harris are dual-threat QBs. Felipe Franks and Shea Patterson are dual-threats as well. I know Les likes to have that ability in a QB, but the type of offense we run and having Cam there makes me wonder why we don't go after more pro-style guys. Isn't our program good enough to get a good pro-style QB from another state?

Miles main objective is to limit mistakes. Wants the qb to be able to scramble if the main read is not there. No progressions because that could lead to turnovers

Why would anyone want a pro style QB over a dual threat?
I don't think you understand the terms you're using.

Cam wants dual threat guys, so that is what we recruit.

Cam has been here for a year and a half and only part of 1 recruiting cycle, where he got Harris. Yeah, he's the 1 that wants dual threats.

And Harris appears to have all the tools to be a great passer
Why wouldn't you want mobility with that?

Not saying we don't... Just saying that Cam has only been here for 1 cycle and had nothing to do with getting guys like JJ / Jennings.
But the big thing is if you can be a good passer. If you can't throw the ball, I don't want you, regardless if you can run.

Thats dumb, we just have a QB who rarely make progressions
Its like everyone forgot about last year.

I've said this in another thread, i think we want a mobile QB to run a new age NFL offense. I think we see what they are doing in SF, and Seattle, and like it.
Power running, read options stuff and a solid passing game.
We just have a Sophomore and a Freshmen QB. Out receivers are really young too.

I was just adding onto it.
Cam picked a guy who can put it anywhere on the field.
OP is acting like dual threats can only run or have no value in a pro style scheme. That's been proven incorrect at the pro level

I may be in the minority, but I prefer a Mett-type of QB over a Harris. With the receivers we have and the RBs we have, I just think that kind of QB is better-suited for our offense.

Don't forget that Cams best QB job was developing Drew Brees.
He was dual threat and turned that into an absolute machine in using that ability to avoid sacks while keeping eyes downfield

What does that mean?
What style is Mett and what does Harris lack?
Give me the Drew Brees, Wilson, Rodgers, Luck style QBs. You don't have to be a statute to deliver the ball downfield
If two guys have equal arms, why wouldn't you take the one with mobility too?

The majority of our QB recruits prior to AJ and Harris have been pro-style--even if they weren't utilized as such. Jefferson was actually pro-style. I believe Perriloux and Shep were the only two dual-threats of note before the current crop.

That's true about Brees. Forgot about that. I guess I'm just frustrated with the QB play and am thinking how much better we could be with a QB that could make all the throws and go through progressions.
Our running game would be so much better if we could throw it better.

The FIRST PRIORITY in evaluating a QB is can he effectively get the ball to his receivers.
Yes, I love mobility assuming the FIRST PRIORITY is satisfied. At no fricking point in any rational brain should mobility be considered on equal footing.
I mean yeah, I want Tom Brady mixed with Russel Wilson. But I'll be goddamned if anyone is gonna sell me on Russel Wilson(examples for illustration purposes) over Tom Brady.

Often though, it aint.
