You have to play conservative from the 25 with a minute 10 left, he ran it three times made them use all timeouts. That is how you do it. Our defense had played great the entire game.
If Vidal Alexander doesn't get that penalty we score a touchdown, and if our kicker doesn't kick it out of bounds Blake sims has to go roughly 80 yards and score a touchdown. Critical mistakes by players late cost us, not Les

1st and goal inside the 25 cause of a penalty
It was 2nd and goal. The penalty came AFTER the first down play. We didn't replay first down.
quote:
and you lay up and only run 20/30 seconds of the clock to set up a field goal
That's because the other team had 3 timeouts which they wisely used to conserve some time on the clock.
quote:
he could atleast took 2 shots at the end zone and then ran to middle of field and then field goal
We only had two plays to run, not 3.
quote:
and then in overtime you run the same dam play 3 times to same side of field in a row
The first play was a fade to the left. The second was a slant from the right side of the field over the middle. The third was not even close to either of those two plays.
Congratulations for being incredibly stupid and having no clue what the hell you are talking about.

Everyone is blaming Miles. Why?
I don't think they blame him for the decisions made on the field Saturday night. It was a pretty soundly managed game, though I would have like to see him use a coaches challenge at some point.
I think they are blaming him for the same reason why Hanagriff said this game was lost in April. The inability to develop the passing game. It is a theme and 10 games in we should have a better passing attack then we do. There are plenty of teams that have showed they can plug inexperienced QBs in the game and get production. As Hanagriff said, "LSU is playing the game with one hand tied behind their back."
Coaches aren't infallible. They can be capable of errors in judgment that are observable by non coaches. If QBs are in close competition, the one that doesn't win out should get meaningful snaps in games that are securely in hand. Build confidence, help the game slow down. Look at the difference in Kyle Allen's game from one start to the next. Accept that turnovers happen and allow your QBs to grow. Not shelter them. It is fine to do that in big games, especially at the start, but open things up against lesser opponents.

its simple with a 1:30 something seconds left we are 1st and goal inside the 25 cause of a penalty , and you lay up and only run 20/30 seconds of the clock to set up a field goal ,, conservative and conservative cost us a game which those boys deserved to win . he could atleast took 2 shots at the end zone and then ran to middle of field and then field goal ..
Taking shots at the end zone could have easily resulted in a turnover and no chance to take the lead. Conservative? Yes. But likely the right call.
3 point lead with 50 seconds, and no timeouts. If you are gambling, you are betting LSU wins, especially when you start taking into account things like:
Bama struggling on 0
Our defense playing well
The stadium
One play here or there ends this game. Mills sacking Sims on the blitz probably ends the game. No personal foul probably ends the game. Hell, if we don't kick it out of bounds, are chances of winning are much greater. 15 yards at a minimum.

Staff had a good game plan, offense just couldn't execute when it needed it most.

1. Personal foul with the ball on our 5 yard line - That's on Miles because his players act like hot-headed morons and have no fear of consequences.
2. Allowing Bama to go right down the field, completing first down passes and getting out of bounds every play - That's on Chavis for having no clue how to stop this.
3. 1st down in overtime and we need a touchdown...4 straight passes. - On Miles all the way.
Want to know why Saban plays chess and Miles plays checkers? Bama calls up a beautiful play in overtime that should have been a TD. We tackle at the one inch line and they commit a personal foul. No problem, they get a touchdown.
We commit a personal foul at the 5 and get backed up to the 20. No problem, we always settle for field goals.
This is on Miles and Saban having similar talent and Miles getting outcoached again and again.

Did Miles force Melvin Jones to drop a wide open pass? Did Miles tell Jennings to force a throw to Dupre no matter what on fourth down instead of running the ball?

Yeah well, you're obviously a dumbfrick.

Actually, he coached the game just fine.
His colossal screw is that either he is starting the wrong QB or, his evaluation of QBs in the last few years has been a colossal failure given that we have the NINETY FOURTH rated QB as the best among them.

You can complain about our ineffective passing game all you want but that does not change the fact LSU was winning with 50 seconds left in regulation.
I wonder how much that lead would have been if we had a passing game worth a shite.

The need to find blame is pathetic.
Sometimes, teams get coached well, play well and lose. Were mistakes made by the players? Of course. Were there 50/50 type decisions made by the coaching staff that in hindsight should have gone the other way? Of course.

The fact that we've had hot garbage for a passing game most of his tenure tells me its a coaching issue.
This just isn't true. 2008 we could throw the ball, just the turn overs killed us. 2011 we were fine until the last game the qbs managed and limited turn overs, not unlike macelroy and mccaron his first year. So really 3 out of 10 years we've had shite qb play.

I blame him for almost never having a decent passing game
I like Miles but cannot argue this point.
Further if Harris doesn't play from here on. LSU will be in the same boat next year

Im not sure wtf your thinking here.
LSU with Miles as the coach and JUST DECENT QB play and LSU would have at least 1 if not 2 more NATIONIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Alabama has 4 straight #1 clauses. LSU has never had the #1 class. Bama is by far the most talented team in the country yet lost to Ole miss and needed the refs to bail him out against Les Miles. The babbling buffoon. Saban is winning on talent alone.

Oh yes, Miles calls the bad plays, Cam calls the good plays.

LSU has had 4 straight number 1 classes like Alabama? link?

Yet you go on and say

Bama players must not fear consequences either then.
What an epic fail of a post

I've said it a few times on this board. There really are no significant complaints about his game day coaching Saturday that are valid. The 4 passes in OT were the direct result of a GREAT call going up in smoke when the receiver shite the bed.
Game day this Saturday was NOT the problem

I'm saying our qb play was utter shite in 09, 10, 14. It was great in 05,06,07, 13. It was decent in 08,11,12. Really 12 was because our online was in shambles, not because Mett sucks, the dude is starting in the NFL.
I was just pointing out that having shite qb play most of his tenure is false.
