I think this years teams are very equal. They have a slightly better and more balanced offense, which is why they won in overtime. Sucks that they are a title contender and we are chick fila bound as usual. Both teams will be even better next year, but I have no hope that our most glaring weakness will be improved next year..

Something else has to be unequal...COACHING, or luck I guess

We are close to being their equal in overall talent except for one critical position - QB.

I think the OP is right. We outplayed Bama most of the night and should have won in spite of having no passing game whatsoever to take pressure off the running game. We had a lot of success running the ball, even when they knew we were going to run it. Our players (short of QB) are just as talented at most all positions. If it weren't for that lame prevent defense, we would have been in the MNC in 2012 and beaten Bama this year. So leave the guy alone!

No it didn't. It proved that we can always get up for Alabama and that we give them our best shot, yet more times than not, they are the better coached and better prepared team and their record against LSU proves it.

Moral victories are for losers like you.

Real victories get you the cigar and bourbon and guess who's been getting just that the past few years?

Dude shut up we aren't their equal. They've won 4 in a row and are in the hunt for the national title every single year while we aren't.

This is why Miles's job here will be forever safe. Some of us think that we are equal to Alabama while constantly losing to that same team.

As for myself, I don't want to settle at Les's level and merely "enjoy the opportunity to compete." As the only major program in the country's best state for talent we should be more than equal to Alabama.

Agreed.

It's sad how many LSU fans are ok with mediocrity and second best. It's the attitude of a loser.

Bama didn't scare me one bit... saw nothing last night to change my mind. Saban knew we should have won.

Duh, but what's the reality here. Like someone previously said...take off the elephant (rose) colored glasses.

It's obvious, we're not there yet.

how in the hell can you say we are bama's equal because we play them tough every year, but say ole miss is not our equal? you're talking out of both sides of your mouth. no team has played us as hard as ole miss the last few years.

LSU is one offensive coordinator away from being better. Miles will never let it happen though.
