Dr Ben Carson is the first Republican in the ring for 2016 election.

He'll flame out pretty early. I like him personally, but he's not fit for the office.

I respect him a lot. Whether he's a good choice to consider for President, we'll have to see.

this guy won't drop out, but he has zero chance of going anywher.e
And let's say he won the nomination, you really want the Rs trotting out a young earth creationist? I have never heard Ben carson espouse the young earth creationism but he is a 7th day adventist.

And we will soon see the usual critics from the Right and the Left...

First one in.
So, a man who pioneered world renowned surgical techniques lacks intelligence because he believes in a Creator?

Smart guy, but he is unelectable. His outspoken social and scientific views will get him torn to pieces by the liberal media, and his lack of political experience will be an easy target for middle of the road voters to target.

The fact that he isn't a politician and is a problem solver, makes him MORE FIT for the job imho.
Though my first choice is Scott Walker.

We'll see. He's a very contemplative and intelligent guy, in a way that some other folks in the mold (from other walks of life, inexperienced) have not been. I'm not sold he's a strong candidate, but I am interested to see how he'll navigate this. I think we might be surprised, even if he isn't ultimately competitive.

Guy would be perfect for a domestic cabinet position.

No, the dude is clearly wicked smart.
BUT, do you really want to open the republicans up to a discussion of young earth creationism? Seriously? Do you want this to be a debate topic, cause if he is the candidate it will be.
He won't be the candidate, mainly due to being suspect on gun rights.

Not saying I support him, but I would really enjoy seeing the rank hypocrisy of Dr. Carson being attacked of the beliefs of his church, while Obama would able do dismiss those same attacks in a single speech.
He will be an enjoyable candidate to watch.

Just based on his history and personality, I don't believe he is a viable candidate in 2014. he will place social issues at the forefront of his campaign. He'll also inevitably be asked about his view on evolution/creation (like all conservative candidates are these days) and unlike others in the past he won't skirt the issue. He'll be outspoken about the fact that evolution is a lie and that the earth is not as old as science says it is.
After that, he'll be the portrayed as a window licking retard by the media and that will be all she wrote.

So someone believing in creation makes them a less viable candidate because they believe in something you don't. Check

An honest, forthright answer. I appreciate it.
So, who is going to make this a point in the debates? Is it (in fact) germane to his governance? Why does it even need to be a topic of discussion?
The reality is, this is meme that is entrenched in the Left to indicate lack of intelligence. You and I both know it.
Having read his first book, I think he is a tremendous role model that should be emulated. But no, I personally do not think he has the political skills to survive a primary run much less a general election.

First of more than 20 who will announce between the two parties.

He'd get a hell of a rise out of the left for sure.

I like Dr. Carson as well and he's definitely on my 2016 radar. But in today's 24/7 media culture, it's tough seeing a political novice surviving the intense media scrutiny and spotlight that comes with presidential campaigns.

But on a positive note, I will got out on a limb and state (unequivocally I might add) that President Obama is not a young earth creationist.
So he has that going for him.
So he has that going for him.
